Why is the presidential candidate who claims to be religiously inclusive is treating the word "Muslim" as an insult?

Apparently, it is OK for Mr. Obama to be associated with terrorists like William Ayers or racists like Jeremiah Wright, but God forbid somebody would call him a Muslim! No, he won't stand for that kind of smear! We admit that most terrorists are Muslims, but most Muslims are not terrorists and the statement on Mr. Obama's website is insulting to hundreds of millions of people.

How could a man who discards his family heritage in favor of political expediency be even considered for presidency of the United States? Where are all the so-called "Islamic civil rights groups" like CAIR, MPAC, ISNA, MAS, etc. who are quick to defend every Islamic terrorist, but are silent when Muslims in general are being denigrated? We sincerely doubt that.

Muslims Against Sharia demand immediate removal of "SMEAR: Barack Obama is a Muslim" statement from the official Barack Obama's website as well as an apology for giving the word "Muslim" a negative connotation.

Suppose the following took place. Someone says that a white candidate had a Negro great-grandparent, and the candidate puts up a "Fight the Smears" page that says: "SMEAR: So-and-so is part Negro."

Another viewpoint: my religious identity is Jewish. Suppose I'm running for office, and someone says I am really a Christian. What is the difference between the following statements?

(1) "Winged Hussar is not a Christian even though he acknowledges Christianity as a positive force for guiding human behavior."

(2) "SMEAR: Winged Hussar is a Christian."

Obviously, #2 says there is something wrong with being a Christian because the allegation is a "smear." The line "SMEAR: So-and-so is part Negro" similarly implies that there is something wrong with being a Negro. Obama's own Web page is therefore derogatory of Muslims.

Note that Obama did not say "SMEAR: Obama is an Islamic supremacist," which would indeed be a smear. He said "SMEAR: Obama is a Muslim."

"Muslim Barack Obama fans told to hide from television cameras"-- suppose it was "Negro McCain fans told to hide from television cameras," or "Jewish Lieberman fans with yarmulkes told to hide from television cameras."

"Muslims barred from picture at Obama event"--right, Obama tosses Muslim-Americans under the bus the way Theodore Bilbo would have tossed African-Americans under the bus a hundred years ago.

But what if McCain or his veep in the debates called Obama “B. Hussein Obama?” Of course the point is, why would you want to run from your heritage instead of embracing it and being proud of it? Liberals don’t want to run as liberals (unless they’re from San Francisco) and running as a muslim or black is also apparently not in style when you still have to win over white America to win the general election. Obama is muslim and black (he was born a muslim and when born a muslim you are always a muslim and he is black, although soon you will see him playing up his “whiteness” too). He will not be able to hide his muslim heirtage anymore than he can hide his blackness and win or lose he should embrace it, not hide it. This shows a real weakness in this clown and I hope the American people (or should I say enough of the American people) are smart enough to see it.
