General Wesley Clark Disses McCain's Leisurely Combat Missions

For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.

Wesley Clark - "I don't think riding in a fighter plane and getting shot down is a qualification to become president."

Even in the Marines, I noticed that the better looking Corporals who had the square chin, bold cheekbones and that All American GQ look seem to get promoted in double time speed to Sergeant. Perhaps former Marine General Anthony Zinni (now a radical lib/internationalist Democrat antiwar politico) was similarly promoted because of the cut of his jib. I mean they have "got the look" of military poster men. IOW they had a physical appearance more impressive than General George S. Patton, but could hardly hold a candle to his military presence and skill.

Along comes John McCain who certainly knew something about leadership in the military having been a son and grandson of naval admirals. He must have picked up something about the military during his youth - at least a bit more than Hillary and Obama - who are Clark's and Zinni's choices to lead U.S. forces in wartime.

According to Handsome Wesley Clark who performed quite below average in directing air attacks against the Serbs in order to defend the Muslim Kosovars which was the twisted strategy of a Monicaized Bill Clinton, John McCain was just riding in an airplane, sort of like ride in Wesley's limo, before he was shot down.

Wesley Clark did not mention in his recent smear of McCain that McCain's ride was cut short by being shot down and then according to the Senator,

"I pulled the ejection handle, and was knocked unconscious by the force of the ejection—the air speed was about 500knots. I didn't realize it at the moment, but I had broken my right leg around the knee, my right arm in three places, and my left arm. I regained consciousness just before I landed by parachute in a lake right in the corner of Hanoi, one they called the Western Lake. My helmet and my oxygen mask had been blown off."
After he regained consciousness, a crowd attacked him, crushed his shoulder with a rifle butt, and bayoneted him;he was then transported to Hanoi's main Hoa Lo Prison nicknamed the "Hanoi Hilton."
In August of 1968, a program of severe torture began on McCain. McCain was subjected to repeated beatings and rope bindings, at the same time as he was suffering from dysentery. After four days, McCain made an anti-American propaganda "confession". He has always felt that his statement was dishonorable, but as he would later write, "I had learned what we all learned over there: Every man has his breaking point. I had reached mine." His injuries left him permanently incapable of raising his arms above his head.He subsequently received two to three beatings per week because of his continued refusal to sign additional statements. Other American POWs were similarly tortured and maltreated in order to extract "confessions" and propaganda statements, with many enduring even worse treatment than McCain."Wikipedia and other sources

Wesley Clark was shot in Vietnam, and was able to recover and continue serving in the military. Clark was also in command of the federal involvement during the Waco, Texas siege. He won that one hands down.

Even if John McCain was not fit to command as Commander In Chief as President of the United States, where in heaven's name would that leave Obama (who never commanded a National Guard like Bill Clinton) or Hillary Clinton who knew only how to command United States Marines to serve horderves at White House functions?

Beats me how one military man can try to trash the service of another - especially John McCain.

The dems. are backing a loser in this one.

Weasely Clark doesn’t even know the difference between a ‘fighter plane’ and an ‘attack plane’. McCain was piloting an A-4 Skyhawk, not a ‘fighter plane’.

For someone who thinks they’re a bloody genius, Clark is a phucking dumbazz.

This is really blowing up in his face.

He praised to high heaven John Effin.
Now he disses McCain?

Completely discredits himself.

What a joke.

Wesley Clark - "I don't think riding in a fighter plane and getting shot down is a qualification to become president."

As even civillians may be aware, McCain was part of an attack squadron, not flying fighters per se, but on bombing missions.

As I understand it, most air missions are boredom/anticipation punctuated with extremely dangerous moments.

When General Clark is carrier ops rated as a pilot I will consider him qualified to discuss McCain's piloting ability.

"riding in", indeed.

Take a powder, General.

Not only that, but his actual statement: "Well, I don't think riding in a fighter plane and getting shot down is a qualification to be president," attempts to denigrate and mask McCain's role as a pilot by suggesting he was "riding" in a plane, and getting shot down suggests that he somehow did something wrong. This is just disgusting.

A big 10-4. Wesley (The Perfumed Prince) Clark is a political hack of the worst stripe. A pathetic groveling partisan. A servile suck ass supplicant of the Dalai Bama. Truly despicable. Grant would have stripped him of his stars and demoted him to buck private. Clark is just the type of martinet and political general that plagued Lincoln until he realised how competent and unpretentious Grant and Sherman were. Just you wait and see, Clark will soon be in that queue of sycophants volunteering to do Obama’s ablutions.

But just once, wouldn’t it be nice to have someone on our side with the verbal skills to respond appropriately to something like this? McCain came out with the typical, milque-toast response when he had the ball sitting on the tee for him. One well-worded firm rebuke could establish a sound bite that could last the length of this campaign, but like most of our other fine representatives, he brings a knife to a gun fight and goes soft. Blown opportunity. Obama is the most easily defeated Democrat candidate there has been for decades, but it’s still a crap shoot because our side is too scared to fight aggressively.

This is an Obama tactic. Wesley Clark goes out and criticizes McCain, coincidentally prior to the next wondrous bit of speech making by Obama in which he speaks of not questioning others patriotism. Operative comes out on MSNBC and says Bollocks Obama does not share this view, even though Clark was sent out by the campaign to say what he said. Within the next day or two, Obama himself will offer a "heartfelt" comment of appreciation for the sacrifice and service of McCain, while stating that his own service should not be questioned.

He is seeking to inoculate himself against questions of his love for this country.

McCain should have replied, “I am sad to hear such a comment coming from my opponent’s campaign for the Presidency. It speaks volumes for the immaturity and ignorance of the candidate whose surrogates are speaking such nonsense.”

Wesley Clark - "I don't think riding in a fighter plane and getting shot down is a qualification to become president."

Hey Weasley! I don't think making command decisions to send tanks against Waco where women and children lived qualifies anyone to be VP or Secretary of Defense.

Absolutely right. The entire thing was staged in advance so Obama could distance himself from the remarks. Clark is as dumb as a bag of hammers letting himself be used this way. He probably thought he’d get a spot on the Obama ticket, meanwhile he’s riding under the bus with Obama’s granny.

One of the most memorable and haunting pieces of film I ever saw was the USS Forestall Fire which John McCain was in the middle of and somehow survived. The footage was standard fire fighting training film when I was in the Navy, and it probably still is. Watching the film in its entirety, including the gruesome site of the corpses gave me nightmares then and now 31 years after I saw the film.
I was never a McCain fan, but I do give the guy allot of respect when it comes to his military service to the Country, and it goes far beyond the time he was a POW.

The weasel lunatic Ashley Wilkes dares criticize others?

General Sir Mike Jackson, K-For’s British commander told Clark during one of many heated exchanges:

“I’m not going to start the Third World War for you.”

A real piece of work this jerk.
