I want to know why it appears that Stanley Armour was at the dock greeting him, standing right by his side.
Here’s an article posted earlier today that might help explain their connection.

When the USSR collapsed in 1991, long-secret archives of the Communist International were thrown open to western researchers for the first time. Many previously unknown details of communist history have been revealed—including the 1935 Comintern orders directing Communists to begin work in Hawaii. These were uncovered by veteran researcher Herbert Romerstein in Moscow.

The other day David suggested that perhaps Obama and Ann went to Kenya to be married since he knew it couldn’t be a legal marriage in the US. Then after the wedding he left Ann there with his family and returned to Hawaii by himself to continue his classes. So is occurred to me that if it is Dunham in the picture standing next to him, he could according to this scenario be welcomming his son-in-law back to Hawaii and giving him a ride to whereever he was living at the time. Even if her parents were not exactly thrilled with their situation, they could have decided that they would try to make the best of it and try to accept Sr. as a member of their family. Then after Jr was born she could fly back by way of Vancouver, make her way down to Seattle and visit her friends. I know this is all conjecture but it is a possible explanation for Dunham’s appearance and position in the picture.
