Obama provides details of his birth weight in Dreams From My Father; “Hm. Well, my mother told me as a kid what my birthweight was (9 pounds 15 ounces), and I remembered it from that. I don’t remember seeing a copy of my birth certificate until I was 15 and getting my learner’s permit, and I didn’t look at the birth weight section. I’m 43, and I couldn’t tell you where the birth weight section on my birth certificate is–I just remember that it’s on green paper…”

Is that in his book? Does anyone else think it a little odd to discuss looking at your birth certificate? Seems contrived to me, like he is starting a line of fiction regarding his birth certificate... like maybe there is a known difficiency in it?

Hawaiian BC's circa 1961 were on brown paper. Kenyan BC's circa 1961 were on green paper, the green of Islam.
