Why Isn't New Mommy Sarah Palin Qualified To Be Vice President?

You want family values? She has it.

You want patriotism? She has it. Track Palin enlisted in the Army. He wants to head to Iraq.

You want a ‘maverick’? She has it. She took out Alaska’s corrupt power structure.

She doesn’t like special interests. She is something of an idealist. She has enough executive experience to appear young and fresh to counter anything the Obama campaign might throw at John McCain. She is a champion of ethics reform. Have I mentioned that she is young (46) and pretty?

Latest news is that McCain might make his Veep pick before the end of the Democrat convention.

If McCain intends to pick a woman, then that might cause a ruckus in the Dem's convention among the pro-Clinton faction.

Just a thought.

If she’s as good as she seems, she’ll decline VP to finish what she’s doing. She’ll be available in 2012 though...

I have no problem with Sarah if she turns out to be the pick.

I don’t think people see her as experienced yet. Considering McCain’s age, this would be a serious problem. Would she be ready to step in if something happens to McCain? Maybe, maybe not, but the perception would probably be ‘not’.

I think she’s great, and I’d like to see her on a ticket with Jindal. The only problem I have is I’m not decided whether she should be the top of the ticket or not.

Let her finish her term as governor.

Gov. Palin is more conservative than Romney.

Well I still think Mitt Romney is the logical choice for VP but if McCain feels he must have a woman on the ticket, I feel better about this here Palin woman than the woman from Texas (Hutchison).

But now that the powers-that-be in the Democratic party have selected Methuselah of Delaware to be the VP, the pressure is off for McCain to counter with a woman of his own.

You want extensive experience in major elective office? She ain't got it.
You want experience in foreign affairs? She ain't got it.
You want experience in national security matters? She ain't got it.

McCain is making a lot of hay out of Obama's inexperience and lack of qualifications for the presidency. He loses that by selecting a veep even less qualified that his opponent is.

Are you trying to make a comparison between Ms Palin and Geraldine? If so, you seriously need to get a life, IMHO.

The person I want as VP will have the fortitude to nuke Tehran and not bat an eye nor care what world opinion thinks. That goes double for the POTUS.

Give her a few years of executive experience and get back to me. I don’t question her conservative credentials, but I have serious reservations about her ability to be POTUS.

You mean that big meanie John McCain may do something to get the Now Gang types, the Boxer's, Pelosi's, and Feinstien's, panties in a bunched up in a bigger wad than then already are? Na.......

Can you imagine the lamps flying in Chapaqua if Palin is picked!

Bill better out on an old football helmet! Shadenfraude! G-D rest his soul, but the spirit of Lee Atwater is filling the sails of the McCain Campaign.

Pick Romney or Pawlenty and be done with it,

Palin has more guts than both combined. I've never seen her handle herself with the press or in a debate but I've seen the letters she has written to Congress and her love for her youngest child. I was of a mind that she was relatively inexperienced because of McCains age but McCain comes from long life lines. I'm inclined for McCain to say the hell with it and get a strong young conservative with a reformers bent into the on deck box right now.

McCain might get my vote with Palin on the ticket. He can forget it with Romney though. ;)

The problem for Mc Cain is that those who are going to vote for Obama do not give a rat's pootie about his lack of experience, or his scandals, or who his associates are or what his politics are. He is for change. That is all they care about.

Not really, Just like Biden doesn't answer the questions about Obamas inexperience Palin wouldn't weigh down McCains experience.

Governors never have extensive foreign policy experience.

Actually, I was of the same mind as you are here but I rethunk it. I'd like to pick a young dynamic conservative with appeal to the youth of this country. As long as they have the intellect, are three legged conservatives and can kick Bidens arse in a debate. That's really all that matters I think.

If not Palin then somebody like Mike Steele, not that he would get any of Obamas supporters, who is a strong young conservative on all three legs and can handle himself verbally.

Romney and Pawlenty are OK but the same ole same ole. McCain should shake it up.

So, to those who say she isn't ready....

Is Hillary ready? What executive experience does she have? None

Will she learn more by staying on as Governor of Alaska for 4 more years? Perhaps, but as VP with McCain, she will be even better suited to take the reins in 2012.

Is she Conservative? More than any other potential VP candidate thus far.

Does she understand the energy situation? Better than all candidates.

George Bush - he selected Cheney for "gravitas". Palin will work with McCain and what I expect will be a pretty strong administration.

She is the BOLD pick.. Do what Obama didn't have the guts to do.

None of these candidates have Executive experience and have actually rooted out corruption - Palin has.

She'd get waxed by Biden in the debate. Anyone recall Clinton v. Lazio? Besides only political junkies like us actually watch VP debates.

Her youth offsets McCain's age.

A good executive surrounds themselves with strong advisors. I don't doubt she will be able to do that.

Let's be the Party that actually does put a woman in the VP Mansion in 2009 and White House in 2013.
