"Proud to be Grandparents" vs. "Punished with a baby" - Video
Blogs for John McCain ^ | September 1, 2008 | brianinmo

Posted on 09/01/2008 12:30:08 PM PDT by blogsforthompson.com

Sarah Palin announced today that her daughter, Bristol, is expecting a baby. Bristol is 17, and here is the statement the Palin family issued:

“We have been blessed with five wonderful children who we love with all our heart and mean everything to us. Our beautiful daughter Bristol came to us with news that as parents we knew would make her grow up faster than we had ever planned. We’re proud of Bristol’s decision to have her baby and even prouder to become grandparents. As Bristol faces the responsibilities of adulthood, she knows she has our unconditional love and support."

“Bristol and the young man she will marry are going to realize very quickly the difficulties of raising a child, which is why they will have the love and support of our entire family. We ask the media to respect our daughter and Levi’s privacy as has always been the tradition of children of candidates.”

Some in the media and on the Liberal Left are already attacking Palin because of the circumstances of her daughter. We - of course - knew they would. They have no decency and no shame.

But one thing stands out in this circumstance that strikingly reveals the difference in thought held by Sarah Palin as opposed to the view of Barack Obama toward the unborn - particularly the unborn being carried by a teenage mother. Though they certainly wish the circumstances were different, the Palins said, "We’re proud of Bristol’s decision to have her baby and even prouder to become grandparents."

Several months ago, here is what Barack Obama said regarding his daughters should they ever be expecting a child as a teenage mother . . . . . (see video at link)

Bravo, Sarah Palin! Yours is exactly the right response to the world about this private matter. My heart to yours.

Congratulations, Bristol and Levi! May the Good Lord Bring you many Blessings, His Guidance, and marriage everlasting.

As Barry himself has pointed out, he is the product of an unwed mother.

I guess deep down inside he feels like his birth was a punishment to his mother.

The media are so transparent. Palin’s been in the limelight for three days and already the press has unearthed three “scandals” surrounding them. A teen pregnancy, an ancient DUI, and a visit by “controversial” Pat Buchanan to Palin’s town when she was mayor. Yet Obama was a candidate for president for over a year before the press noticed his ties to Jeremiah Wright, and even then they only covered it after talk radio forced their hand. They’re still trying to downplay and cover up Rezko and Ayers.

17 Year Old Bristol Palin - MORE COURAGOUS than Obama

These late breaking events are beyond ironic. I am starting to believe that this is the hand of God sending a message regarding the most radical, callous, and disdainful attitude regarding the sanctity of life on the part of Barrack Obama.

Think about this...
17 year old Bristol Palin finds herself in the very frightening situation of being and unwed pregnant teenager.

Bristol says - “I love and want this child. I made this mistake, the child is innocent. My choice is simple - the child lives, and I will accept the consequences of my behavior”. Bristol’s parents provide their unconditional love and support and know that with God’s help, the family will get through this.

Obama says - “If my daughter made a mistake, I don’t want her to be punished with a baby...”. Here, Obama, and presumably his wife as well, show intent to take the matter into their own hands and kill the child, thereby covering their’s and their daughter’s mistake. And the child pays for the Obama’s mistake with its life.

This 17 year old girl has more courage and resolve to weather a personal mistake than the democratic party’s nominee for president - really.

Could this be any more ironic??

I spend two hours each Saturday morning praying in front of an abortion clinic and routinely see cowardly, confused and weak-minded men entering the planned parenthood clinic (where surgical abortions are performed) with their girlfriends/wives to accomplish one thing - cover up their tracks and avoid the consequence of their actions. And many of them have Obama bumper stickers.

Methinks God is playing a very active role in this election.

Whereas I think it's the rest of us who got punished on that one.

Dobson on Bristol Palin's Pregnancy

September 01, 2008 1:52 PM

Dr. James C. Dobson of Focus on the Family issued the following statement:

"In the 32-year history of Focus on the Family, we have offered prayer, counseling and resource assistance to tens of thousands of parents and children in the same situation the Palins are now facing. We have always encouraged the parents to love and support their children and always advised the girls to see their pregnancies through, even though there will of course be challenges along the way. That is what the Palins are doing, and they should be commended once again for not just talking about their pro-life and pro-family values, but living them out even in the midst of trying circumstances.

"Being a Christian does not mean you're perfect. Nor does it mean your children are perfect. But it does mean there is forgiveness and restoration when we confess our imperfections to the Lord. I've been the beneficiary of that forgiveness and restoration in my own life countless times, as I'm sure the Palins have.

"The media are already trying to spin this as evidence Gov. Palin is a 'hypocrite,' but all it really means is that she and her family are human. They are in my prayers and those of millions of Americans."

What’s the big deal?

She’s pregnant, she’s getting married, she’s having a child. So? She’s 17 and already shows courage and strength as she stands up to her actions as is the young man. No problem here, what’s the news?

Black child born to a white mother in 1961. Obama may be trying to make up for sense of loss or disconnect from childhood. And we'll never know how his grandparents actually felt about it or treated him and his mother. I'm just stating what I've seen happen in other families.

The liberal defines the victims as culprits and the culprits as victims. Think about what he's more or less making the baby out as, the culprit. Think about what he's making the pregnant woman out as, the victim.

The liberal defines weakness as strength and strength as weakness. To the liberal it requires courage to destroy a life they created through their own free will/behavior. Those who stand up and take responsibility for their actions, they are presented as backwards, stupid, or weak.

The liberal mind is a scary place.

I ventured into Airhead America while driving to St. Paul to watch the moonbats. Ed Schultz was claiming that if Sarah Palin had not been on a national ticket, she would have scheduled an abortion for Bristol.

The Left is vile, evil!

I know RR. Its not that she got pregnant out of wedlock.

Its that it was kept a secret from US by Palin... AND McCain - on purpose.

Now I wonder what McCain’s counter -attack was/is. I’m sure he knew this daughter and mother would be attacked....what is his response? Making the dems look bad for attacking them? Making obama’s anti-baby past make him look bad?

Lots more too, sure. Not the way to go.

It could have been spun well even if they had come out with the truth beforehand.

....She’s a mom going through what lots of moms go through,
... it makes her look that much more normal,
....what a great thing that they are keeping the baby
.... what a great example of a tradional family sticking together thru thick and thin......... yadayadaydadada.

Thanks for the bump
