Lying SOS. I joined in 1978 and I was stationed aboard the USS Henry B. Wilson (DDG-7) from 1979-1984. The USN is in a more or less constant state of combat readiness training and I found it plenty exciting. When was the last time the USN was in head to head combat with a worthy adversary - 1941-1945?
