Psalm 18: 31 For who is God besides the LORD? And who is the Rock except our God?

32 It is God who arms me with strength and makes my way perfect.

33 He makes my feet like the feet of a deer; he enables me to stand on the heights.

34 He trains my hands for battle; my arms can bend a bow of bronze.

35 You give me your shield of victory, and your right hand sustains me; you stoop down to make me great.

36 You broaden the path beneath me, so that my ankles do not turn.

37 I pursued my enemies and overtook them; I did not turn back till they were destroyed.

On August 29 2008, just 10 days ago, I watched as the mystery was revealed; Senator McCain had selected for his running-mate the young Governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin.

As Governor Palin introduced her family, she revealed that the day was also the 20th Wedding Anniversary for Todd & her.

I sat there and asked myself what were we doing 20 years ago; then I remembered.

In 1988, the church that I was a part of in Anchorage Alaska, went out on selected Sundays to various Prayer Points surrounding our city. Our purpose was to effect something of God in the spiritual atmosphere of our city and state.

I was a part of a group that was sent to a very high point that looked down over most of the Anchorage Bowl. Our location had been carved out of the Chugach mountains for future home development, but was still fairly rough and remote.

I would park our van, put the Hosanna tape "Army of God" into the player, open up the back doors and with those militant warfare worship songs playing in the background, we went into spiritual warfare for our city.

One of my many prayers was that Father God would raise up strong believers from our region and engage them in the political arena at a local, state and federal level. I would go through all 50 verses of Psalm 18 declaring them for our present generation.

Now 20 years later, I am saying that we might be witnessing the effect of those prayers. A young Todd Palin and Sarah Heath eloped later that year, began their family, growing in their faith and community involvment

For non-Christian Freepers to understood better, those prayers were not directed at individuals but at powers, principalities, forces at work in the heavenly realm, for we do not do battle with people but with the spiritual enemies of Father God.

Yes, we know how the book ends and we have the victory, but in the meanwhile we must not rest.

I would encourage you to read through Psalm 18 and watch Sarah Palin from that prospective.

As a Christian, I respect the political views of all Americans. Truly this election will make the history books.

I am not saying that God is on one side and not on another.

His response to Joshua's question "Are you for us or against us?" was "Neither"

Just consider that Sarah Palin might just be walking out the prayers for our nation that many have given to God, and when the bowl of prayers is finally filled, they are to be poured out on us.

Psalm 144 (New King James Version)

1
Blessed be the LORD my Rock,
Who trains my hands for war,
And my fingers for battle —

2
My lovingkindness and my fortress,
My high tower and my deliverer,
My shield and the One in whom I take refuge,
Who subdues my people under me.

3
LORD, what is man, that You take knowledge of him?
Or the son of man, that You are mindful of him?

4
Man is like a breath;
His days are like a passing shadow.

5
Bow down Your heavens, O LORD, and come down;
Touch the mountains, and they shall smoke.

6
Flash forth lightning and scatter them;
Shoot out Your arrows and destroy them.

7
Stretch out Your hand from above;
Rescue me and deliver me out of great waters,
From the hand of foreigners,

8
Whose mouth speaks lying words,
And whose right hand is a right hand of falsehood.

9
I will sing a new song to You, O God;
On a harp of ten strings I will sing praises to You,

10
The One who gives salvation to kings,
Who delivers David His servant
From the deadly sword.

11
Rescue me and deliver me from the hand of foreigners,
Whose mouth speaks lying words,
And whose right hand is a right hand of falsehood —

12
That our sons may be as plants grown up in their youth;
That our daughters may be as pillars,
Sculptured in palace style;

13
That our barns may be full,
Supplying all kinds of produce;
That our sheep may bring forth thousands
And ten thousands in our fields;

14
That our oxen may be well laden;
That there be no breaking in or going out;
That there be no outcry in our streets.

15
Happy are the people who are in such a state;
Happy are the people whose God is the LORD!
