Former Palin Aide in Alaska Blows Democrats' Bridge Attack on Palin Out of the Water - Video 9/8/08

Here is former aide to Gov. Sarah Palin, Meg Stapleton, explaining to CNN's Wolf Blitzer the reality of Gov. Palin's role in killing the so-called, "Bridge to Nowhere" in Alaska. Democrats are claiming Gov. Plain is lying about her role in killing the project, saying she actually favored it. Stapleton explains that Gov. Palin at first supported the concept of a Bridge to the residents of the area in need, but once she became Governor and learned the final plans for the Bridge and the massive nature of it's cost, she made the decision to kill the project. Clearly, Wolf Blitzer is taken aback at Stapleton's absolute assertion that Gov. Plain "killed" the project. Blitzer also asks Stapleton about several other hot button issues and what she knows about Palin's views. . . . . (see video at link)

It does not matter if you hit the MSM with a brick over their heads, they will refuse to believe any real truth about McCain/Palin. Their frenzy shows just how shallow, how hollow and empty they truly are. Their little candidate Barry is slowing being viscerated before their eyes and they cannot beleive that history is about to be re-written by an old Maverick named McCain, and hockey mom governor named Sarah Palin. Truly pathetic ... all of them.

Barack the bomb thrower is at it again, throwing out lies and lies hoping one will hit the target.

Kinda’ funny to have Wolf asking her about “Global Warming” while she’s standing there, in early September, in a winter coat.

From what I've seen of Wolf Blitzed over the years I don't think he would recognize it as a coat unless it was written into the DNC talking points.

She used to anchor the 10 pm local news for the #1 rated station in Anchorage (KTUU Channel 2).

This woman did a decent job but she didn’t use the killer fact that Biden and Obama voted twice against using the funds for Katrina relief. Maybe the McCain/Palin team has put out the word that they want the media/Obama campaign to dig their a little deeper before they do a full offensive using that salient fact.

Didnt’ Congress already put the kibosh on funding — after massive public outrage forced them to do this — way back in November 2005, before Palin was even elected governor, a year later?

So Palin effectively had no federal money to work with anyway at that point and couldn’t justify allocating the amount of money from the state’s budget to fund the project, so the project died.

So the statement, “In fact, I told Congress — I told Congress, ‘Thanks, but no thanks,’ on that Bridge to Nowhere. ‘If our state wanted a bridge’, I said, ‘we’d build it ourselves’”, seems a bit disingenuous. She didn’t tell Congress “thanks but no thanks.” Congress had already killed funding for it more than a year earlier. The statement that if her state wanted a bridge, they’d build it themselves may be correct (as she could still have allocated state funds to accomplish the project), but that decision would have been massively unpopular. It sounds to me like she was between a rock and a hard place at that point and had to kill the project by default. And nevermind the fact that she never mentioned that she first championed the project.

‘Course, this is a small issue anyway in my opinion. Doesn’t really matter in the big scheme of things; just something the Left wants to latch onto for a smear campaign. And the Left really should think twice before going down that particular road. If they are insinuating that Palin is corrupt or dishonest somehow because of this, then all that needs to be mentioned are Obama’s three failed housing developments with Rezko. Or Ayers. Or Phleger. The list goes on. They really don’t want to take this particular route — they’ll lose, big time.

Palin is a relative saint compared to her accusers.
