CNN's John Roberts - "“We’re offering personality, not partisanship." Seriously?
The Eye Weekly ^ | 9/17/08 | Marc Weisblott

“Feedback from viewers is great,” Roberts tells Scrolling Eye at the tail end of a shift he woke up for at 1am. “But that’s different from the ranters who will rant about anything, especially those fierce partisans taking issue with whatever doesn’t fit their view of politics. We’re not going to change their view of the world.

“What CNN is dedicated to is speaking to the great middle of America, going after viewers seeking a reasonable opinion of things — all the moderate Republicans, Democrats and independents that want to be reliably informed.

“We’re offering personality, not partisanship. That means being personable with the guests and connecting with them, while never injecting my own opinion — unless it’s something obvious, that can help make the information accessible.”

Ok, so. John Roberts, who launched into more than one tirade during the RNC against Palin - including challenging her veracity as a mother of a downs syndrome baby - actually believes CNN isn't partisan? Absolutely hilarious. Will people actually believe him? Sadly, probably yes. At least all the weirdos in Kos.

Will people actually believe him? Almost certainly not.

Does he actually believe what he’s saying? That would make for an interesting debate. Probably on some level he does - people are capable of enormous amounts of self-delusion.

And how exactly am I supposed to have a straight face after reading this lie from one of the most outspoken, Dem-tool on CNN?

Maybe he should read the definition of “delusional”.

"Should this mother be running for vice president?"

Never injecting opinion, eh John?

If CNN would identify the parties of the "guests" it would run 5 to 1 dem. That's not "personality" it's partisanship.

And if John Roberts doesn't "get" that, let him try 5 charming Republicans to every dem - - he'll catch that it's partisan then...
