Civil unrest and martial law in the US I just awoke from a nap and when I saw this headline I thought for a moment I had way overslept and Obama was already elected.

I see serious problems with the idea of thinking that American soldiers would have much will or success imposing Large scale martial law on American citizens. I would be far more concerned about mexican military since we seem to be becoming desensitized to them crossing the border.
It is interesting considering that at least one congressman claimed on the house floor that he was told that there would be martial law if the bailout failed.

Back during the black helicopter Clinton days, people here were in a tizzy everytime news went out that US military units were conducting crowd control training or house clearing training.

That would explain all the "remodeling" work taking place at my local Walmart store....
I need to stay in good graces with management so I can get me a cushy guard job, with snappy uniform and a firearm....

A brigade could not even control a large town let alone the country. It took 130,000 US military troops to calm Iraq down; 30% of the population of Kalifornia and less land mass then Texas. IF W was planning something ALL the troops would be home from Iraq and many other parts of the world. BTW he is now only one executive order away from being able to enact it.

They’ll need a lot more than a brigade if the banks freeze up this week, and have to take a “holiday,” while credit cards don’t work and mortgage payments are not credited and ATM machines run dry.
