A political axiom: Always say on Day One what you know is going to come out on Day Eight anyway. And so it is with Senator Obama and Bill Ayers.
Watching Barack Obama, twist and turn, stutter and stammer – and, yes, lie – about his up close and personal relationship with unrepentant terrorist Bill Ayers has swept me back in memory’s eye to the last dinner I had with my late friend George Crile.
George, as some may recall, was the award-winning Sixty Minutes producer who departed this veil far too early when he died of pancreatic cancer at the age of 61 some three years ago. I still lament his passing and miss his journalistic integrity.
We were dining together at the home of Rob Owen – a.k.a., “The Courier” from the Iran-Contra days – when the discussion turned to Richard Nixon and the Watergate scandal.
“You know what the real lesson there was for politicians?” George asked. “It was always say on Day One what you know is going to come out on Day Eight anyway. It’s the cover-up that gets them in trouble.”
And so it will be for one Barack Obama, who for months on end now has covered up through every oily dissimulation possible what is sure to come out on his impending “day eight” anyway: the indisputable fact that he was bosom buddies not only with Bill Ayers, but also with Ayers chillingly bloodthirsty wife, Bernadine Dohrn.
As even CNN was forced to acknowledge in its Ayers-Obama piece earlier this week: “When pressed Obama said he and Ayers served on a charitable foundation board together. But the relationship between Ayers and Obama went much deeper, ran much longer, and was much more political than Obama said.”
So the real question now is no longer whether Obama was “palling around” with Ayers and Dohrn, as the inimitable Mrs. Palin puts it. Nor is it even whether he knew who the two miscreants were (though Obama spokespersons like David Axelrod still cling to the insulting myth that Barack “didn’t know the history” of Chicago’s most infamous terrorist.)
No, the real question now is: Why the cover-up? And I think we know the answer.
Barack Obama, from the first day he joined forces with Ayers back in 1987 surely knew who Bill Ayers was. Despite his transparent denials, by the time Ayers launched Obama’s political career over wine and brie in 1995, the community organizer had to have known what Ayers had done. And, worst of all, Obama absolutely knew as recently as 2006 when he accepted campaign contributions from Ayers that the man lamented that he “didn’t do enough” when he bombed his own nation and its innocent civilians.
In short, from day one, Barack Obama looked deep into the soul of the beast. What he saw in Ayers and his wife, if he had any sense of perception at all, was what Churchill once described as “soul-destroying hatred.” And Obama embraced it as his own.
That’s why Obama wrote an adoring review of Ayers’ radical tome, “A Kind and Just Parent.” That’s why Obama chose to appear on numerous panels with Ayers extolling the unrepentant terrorist’s radical philosophy. That’s why Obama served with Ayers on the board of the Woods Fund – from which the two funneled hundreds of thousands of dollars to the repugnant racist, Jeremiah Wright.
It’s why Obama was approved by Ayers to chair the Chicago Annenberg Challenge as it steered millions of dollars to leftwing causes. It’s why Obama and Ayers served on as many as eight different boards together, including their 1987 joint venture, the Alliance for Better Chicago Schools. And it’s why Ayers in his book “A Kind and Just Parent,” specifically cites Obama as a kindred spirit in his Hyde Park neighborhood (along with Mohammed Ali and Louis Farrakhan). All of which Obama, of course, denies.
So, what exactly is it that Obama has embraced?
Obama has embraced the pathological philosophy and political tactics of a man – and his wife – who would gladly kill in order to further their totalitarian goals. There is simply no other way to say it. And that’s why Obama is so desperate to cover up his long-standing, intimate bond with the viper and the vixen.
How else could one account for continuing a relationship with a man who, in 2001 told the New York Times, “"I don't regret setting bombs," and "I feel we didn't do enough", and, when asked if he would "do it all again" replied, “I don't want to discount the possibility”?
How else could one account for continuing a relationship with a man who had himself pictured on the cover of his book Fugitive Days staring defiantly into the camera and trampling the American flag? How else could one account for continuing a relationship with a man who openly boasts of being “a radical, Leftist, a small ‘c’ communist”?
And how else could one account for ever having established a relationship with a woman who, after the horrifying murder of the eight-month pregnant Sharon Tate and her dinner guests at the hands of the Manson gang proclaimed, “Dig it. First they killed those pigs, then they ate dinner in the same room with them, they even shoved a fork into a victim’s stomach! Wild!”
Barack Obama doesn’t want to answer for aligning himself with such vile and violent human debris. So, he simply lies about it. Again, and again, and again, and again. You see, he knows that we know that William Allen Turner was right, “A man doesn’t merely attract what he wants – he attracts what he is.”
And so, Barack Obama has to continue living the lie he wove from the start. But Day 8 is coming. And the truth will out.
Ayers quote from 1995:
“I am a radical, Leftist, small ‘c’ communist ... [Laughs] Maybe I’m the last communist who is willing to admit it. ... The ethics of Communism still appeal to me. I don’t like Lenin as much as the early Marx.”

2008 Obama In response to ABC News, Obama tells a national TV audience he was “six years old” when Ayers bombed federal buildings, and they are only casual neighborhood acquaintances. A lie.

These internet sites show that the organization Students for a Democratic Society is still around and growing in our collegiate institutions.
This is the first time I've seen that little tid bit.
The key point is they had a working relationship with likeminded thinking and commonly shared goals and beliefs.
Undecideds won’t understand how being “personal friends” ties in. We have to make the point that they WORKED TOGETHER CLOSELY, for TEN YEARS.
Yeah, right. He went to school in CA and NYC. Whatever US family ties he had were in Kansas and Hawaii yet he ends up in Chicago. Why did he choose to put down roots in Chicago? Why not be a community organizer in NYC or CA where he went to school? He was obviously "stationed" in Chicago to perform his community organization duties. The other community organizers on in the south side of Chicago were Wright, Ayers, ACORN, Pfleger, Farakah, etc. He had to have worked closely with them. There must be someone out there who has pictures or stories who can come forward with information.
