It looks like he & others never delivered on the “Maya name artifacts” hidden in the file data. But still, his original analysis of the document as being a fake seems to still be valid.

The story as I recall it is that Polarik posted one of the first analyses on the COLB. Techdude was a late entry into the COLB analysis, but got a lot of the initial "fame" by posting to the Texas Darlin' blog. Apparently, that blog had more "street cred" on this issue than FR or Townhall blog (where Polarik posted), because Texas Darlin' is run by a Hillary supporter.

In hindsight, the charge is that Techdude was a glory-seeker, usurping much of Polarik's groundwork, forming a collaboration with Polarik to jointly publish results, and then jumping the gun and posting the "definitive" analysis as his own work (to the annoyance of Polarik).

The more conspiratorial people had claimed that Techdude was a mole, getting in early to undermine the effort by taking the lead in the analysis and then disappearing, leaving the whole effort in doubt and with no credibility.

It was shortly after this point that Obama went to Hawaii for his vacation, and then shortly after returning that Factcheck.org had pictures of a crisp, clean COLB that looked like the posted images.
