EXCLUSIVE: .22 Gunshot, paint balls fired at McCain / Palin Straight Talk Express

October 19th, 2008

(Sunday, October 19 - Filed by Mark Williams in Raton, New Mexico with the Stop Obama Tour) We learned at this morning’s Stop Obama Rally here that the McCain/Palin Straight Talk Express came through town yesterday. It arrived with a window shattered by a .22 caliber weapon. It had also been hit by an unknown number of paint balls from a paint ball gun or guns. There were reportedly no injuries and neither candidate was on board.

One local man who saw the damage and spoke with the McCain/Palin staffers said the attack(s) had occurred in southern New Mexico that same day. The Express is traveling the country independent of the candidates, handing out campaign materials.

Sarah Palin is stumping in of all places Roswell, New Mexico today and then roughly back the way we came with an event at the Henderson, Nevada Pavilion tomorrow and a stop in Elko, Nevada.

I live just south of Portland Oregon. To say Oregon is rabidly and sometimes violently liberal is like saying Santa is fat. I have three McCain stickers and a Joe The plumber sign in my Truck. I have a yard sign as well.

Anyone who wants to mess with me can feel free. I can debate them into the ground. They get violent (if my kids aren't with me, I do go out of my way to avoid confrontation if my kids are with me) I am very capable of defending myself. In other words, I refuse to let the threat of violence stop me. If we do that, then at some point they are going to think that they are not only getting away with threats, but that its ok to threaten, the population won't defend itself, which I think is a dangerous course. Walk softly but carry a big stick. There is a lot to be said about a good offense being the best defense.

I have a lawn sign also.. I counter protest the moonbats every Saturday at Fort Monmouth, NJ.. I'm not afraid and I will confront and debate them. I feel I have enough patriotic stuff on my car to leave no doubt that I'm Conservative and would endorse McCain. I just don't want to tempt fate with a McCain Sticker on my car. My house they wouldn't dare touch.. but an empty car is vulnerable to cowardly attacks by Libs.

I mostly get thumbs up but latley I have been a little paranoid just waiting for my car to get keyed ...but I don’t care....well I sorta don’t care..

My American nephew sent me a pair of American flags painted on wood, joined by a thick string, in 2002. I hung them from my rear view mirror.

I left my car at work one weekend, and came back on Monday to find what turned out to be Kentucky Fried Chicken gravy all over the roof, (it is hard on the paint), and a few key marks.

You know what? It was worth it.

I cleaned up my car, touched up the paint, and kept the flags hanging proudly.

I've watched the change here in Canada....the more conservatives speak out, the more conservatives speak up. The more we stand up for each other, more of us will stand up for each other. The more people see your McCain/Palin sticker, the more people will feel safe putting one on their vehicle.

It's People Power.

Am I explaining myself properly? I understand the fear, but if we don't stand up to it now, it will surely only become worse.
