Most mornings I like to read a chapter of Proverbs in the Bible. Awhile back my nice Jewish neighbor told me that there are 31 proverbs, so he would read one a day; so that is why I read Proverbs 21 today on the 21st. the proverbs are full of wise truths. This morning I was very encouraged to read this scripture and hope you are as well: "The horse is prepared for the day of battle, but deliverance and victory are of the Lord."
Proverb 21:31
Here’s another passage that has encouraged me:
2 Chronicles 20:17:
17 But you will not even need to fight. Take your positions; then stand still and watch the Lords victory. He is with you, O people of Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid or discouraged. Go out against them tomorrow, for the Lord is with you! (New Living Translation)
“Stand still and know that I am God.”
“the sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination, the more so when they offer it with a bad intention”.
“If we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.”
I John 5:14 NKJV
I am a witness to this, having been told a decade ago by one of the leading fertility doctors in Dallas that I would never be able to have children. I had my first daughter in 2000; my twins this past July. :*)
“If God is for us, who can be against us?”
Keep the faith!! Pray for McCain/Palin with all your hearts, all your minds, all your souls!!! God is in control!
That’s the first great vanity I have seen!
Praise God!
Yes. Good encouragement for God’s followers.... Here’s the address for the entire chapter.

Congratulations. Your post made me smile.
Thank you very much for posting this.
oh, I love that.....we really need this at this trying time....thx
Thank you for your inspiring quotes. I have a meditation book called, If My People...It is 40 days of prayer for our nation. The daily passages are helping to give me strength right now.
Thomas Jefferson wrote in 1801, “Almighty God, who has given us this good land for our heritage: We humbly beseech thee that we may always prove ourselves a people mindful of thy favor and glad to do thy will. Bless our land with honorable ministry, sound learning and pure manners. Save us from violence, discord and confusion, from pride and arrogance and from every evil way. Defend our liberties and fashion into one united people, the multitude brought hither out of many kindreds and tongues. Endow with thy spirit of wisdom these whom in Thy name we entrust the authority of government, that there may be justice and peace at home, and that through obedience to thy law, we may show forth Thy praise among the nations of the earth. In time of prosperity, fill out hearts with thankfulness and in the day of trouble, suffer not our trust in thee to fail; all of which we ask through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
Thank you! Encouraging scriptures have gotten me through many a bad day, I can testify to that! :*)
it means to me....God is there always, but WE have to put our best effort forward....."run the race in such a way to win."
Yup, be a ‘do-er’ of the Word, not just a ‘say-er’! :-)
My favorite verse:
Revelation 3:17-18 “You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked. I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich; and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and salve to put on your eyes, os you can see.”
Read that in 1998. Prayed about it and decided to purchase physical silver and gold coins from that point on instead of putting my money in the stock market. Damn glad I took God’s advice.
The gold and silver you bought is not the kind God is selling. God paid His price on the cross and gives it freely. Gold coins won’t help what’s coming.
Revelation 3:10 Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth.
