It is almost an hour- a long thesis on how America is collapsing, Bush conspiracy, etc, etc.. sounds like a typical nut job leftist.

I’ve been listening to this for a little bit, and while I can say that Khalidi is a very boring lecturer and I cannot abide by people who wear their glasses on the edge of their nose (OMG, I would have dropped his course the first day). That said, I don’t hear anything particularly radical so far. He starts off by complimenting Bush 41’s tenure; clearly states that the first Iraq War was fully justified and was a UN action, etc....He’s much more critical of Clinton’s administration than Bush 41.
I hope the LAT tape has some smoking gun because Khalidi is no more anti-Bush (43) than many people on this board. He’s critical of the “unilateralism” of Bush 43, but it’s a fairly dispassionate critique. I disagree with him, but he’s hardly a raging lunatic. Of course he’s a leftist, but again, that’s hardly going to turn off Obama’s supporters or the independents. He’s not coming off as a moonbat leftist; he’s not nearly as stridently anti-Bush 43 as many Freepers. The lecture is just going over whether the war in Iraq was similar to a “colonialist” action, or whether it was even that unique in US history, and whether the US is now an Empire (frankly, I think a lot of conservatives think the US has become one, for good or ill).
Sorry, but I’m waiting for the crazy stuff and there isn’t any in this video. Not saying I agree with him on much (if anything), but he’s actually coming off as more moderate than Obama so far.
