Chris Matthews to Run for Senate in PA
The Cable Game ^ | 10/31/2008 | The Cable Game

Posted on 10/31/2008 8:37:08 AM PDT by outfield

Chris Matthews is giving serious thought to running for office in the Keystone State, home of the Philadelphia Phillies, whose cap Matthews is wearing--perhaps US Senator in 2010, the seat currently held by Republican Arlen Specter.

But of course, Matthews is currently hosting "Hardball" on MSNBC. And there's an obvious conflict--or at least there should be--between practicing journalism and running for office.

So which will it be? MSNBC should not allow anyone to do both--to appear on its air, while politicking for one party, in one state.

MSNBC should confront to Matthews and get a clear, contractual understanding of his intentions. Matthews should either totally swear off political ambitions, no ifs, ands, or buts--or else immediately resign his MSNBC gig immediately and make an honest man of himself.

Since MSNBC is an arm of the Dem Party, will it finance his campaign?

I’d love to see him waste a ton of money and get his butt spanked by a conservative.

The thought of having Matthews and Casey as my Senators is sickening. Just when I was about to go to lunch too. Although Matthews wouldn’t have a shot of winning.

Good question. And:

MSNBC should not allow anyone to do both--to appear on its air, while politicking for one party, in one state."

And, why not. This character has been shilling for the Democratic party for years now.

This has got to be satire.

Wait a second? Are you telling me that prominent members of the media are Democrats? What are you going to try to sell me next? A Bridge in Brookyln? The idea that a socialist with muslim ties and no record is the Democratic nominee for President?

In a branch of government increasingly populated by overstuffed, arrogant, rather stupid windbags, he would be a perfect fit.

MSNBC has already allowed Matthews and the rest of it's news department to politick for one party nationally so why would they change their policy for a local race?

It’s infuriating that this weasel has a job on a television news network. He has never been anything more than a Democrat politico, and his program reflects that fact perfectly.
