Well, Darlin’.......

I have yet to meet these “people”. We endured Clinton for eight years as well as Jimmy Carter. And we haven’t experienced a Nero-like reign of terror in this country yet.

The blow is heavy, but you must recover. There is much to be thankful for despite this outcome.

We need to do all those things. We also need to wait and let Americans experience, good and hard, the results of total Democratic control of the Federal government. Benjamin Franklin said “Experience is a dear (costly) teacher, but fools will learn at no other.”

Agreed. They made their bed now let them lie in it for a while! Then and only then will they have a newfound perspective.

Very well said. Let’s remember that our President, and our Republican representatives, strayed drastically from our core principles. For whatever the reason, when they get to Washington there seems to be a fixation on being “accepted” by the MSM.
It’s time for all of us to start the grass root process of finding and electing principled conservatives; who abide by the principles of smaller government, lower taxes, and a strong national defense. He or She must be able to articulate to our younger voters why our core values will lead to a better America. We must find “leaders” not career politicians. American’s are looking for leaders; and I firmly believe that our principles, if explained and shared with the American people will allow us to expand our party in much the same way the great Ronald Reagan did.
I know this is a time of hurt for our party and principles; but it also provides us an opportunity to regroup and rise again stronger and more focused.
Many of the egotistical Democrats are going to read this as a mandate to push our country further to the left, attempting to implement all of their social engineering dreams. They are going to come at us fast and furious, Healthcare, tax increases, social programs, welfare, just to name a few. With true conservative “leaders” we can win on each issue, hands down.
Easily done? No way, but we must accept what happened and double our efforts for 2010. Time in not on our side, with the Dems in total control, much damage can be done in a short period of time.

Very well said. Let's all remember that our elected leaders, strayed from our core conservative principles. I still do not understand what happens to apparently well intentioned Republicans when they get to Washington. The power, the need to be accepted and liked by the MSM, seems to overtake them once they get to Washington.
We all must double our efforts to find and elect true conservative “Leaders”. In my opinion there is a great void of conservative leaders. Our core beliefs are simple, and when explained properly by a true conservative leader, win over democratic emotions everytime.
Easily done? No.
But in my opinion the egotistical dems will read this victory as a mandate to further expand their liberal agenda. Time is not on our side, with the dems in total control much damage can be done to our great Republic in a very short period of time. We must stop wasting time wondering what happened, whom to blame, or looking for more polling mishaps. Let's be honest, McCain was not our candidate of choice; he was thrust upon us by the MSM. Finally with his appointment of Palin he was able to energize much of the base. But most of us were never really inspired by John McCain. We did the same thing back in 1996 with Bob Dole. Don't get me wrong, both men are true patriots and have a true love of country and should be admired for their service to it. However, neither of them was the conservative “Leader” that our party needed to win.
2010 will come upon us very quickly. We need to start now, doubling our efforts to find conservative leaders willing to transform our party to better reflect our principles. Sorry, I don't think we need to reach across the aisle everytime we want to get something done. I don't know how you can reach across the aisle when it compromises our core principles and beliefs. We must find and elect leaders who can persuade, negotiate, and lead others of different thinking to see that our principles are the correct ones. We have been compromising, reaching across the aisle, working hard to be like the Dems, and look at where it has gotten us. Once again, back to being the minority party. I don't know about you all, but I really fear of the damage that can be done by the extreme liberal thinking of the current Democratic leaders.
I don't have many answers, but if we can't find passionate conservative leaders who can articulate our principles to our opponents, as well as members of the Republican party, we may remain the minority party for a long time.
That my friends, may allow the Dems to do damage to our country that is irreversible. Let's move forward in unity, to once again, establish a party that leads our country into the 21st century based on our core conservative principles.
