Don’t worry. They will still use it. They’ll say he would have won 538 if it wasn’t for racist crackers.
Hahahahaha! Dream on. It’s just begun.
You think Jackson and Sharpton really care about "struggling" blacks?
Also dead: trite lines such as “America is a racist country” and “our sad legacy of racism.”
I guess it was not enought for minorities to see the success of people like Colin Powell, Condi Rice, Ken Chenault (Amex CEO) to believe that they can make it to the top. Obama has reached the pinnacle of success in this country. No more talk of the government or “the man” keeping one down....
Yes! Now I want to see a concerted effort to dismantle affirmative action once and for all: we have a president-elect who is black, so that means a person of color CAN become leader of the free world.
Of course, what will our buds in Europe do now? They can’t call us racist anymore, and the election resulted how they wanted: what’s an American-bashing leftist (in other words, 99% of Western Europe) to do now? Longingly gaze at Bush for another 76 days?
But more pressing: will the Lady Obama give her Lord a male heir to secure the Succession?
Reparations have just begun, my friend.
I always thought it must be infuriating to any black American who has gone to school, worked for a job and succeeded in life to be told they couldn't do it because America is racist. My neighborhood is full of hard working Americans, who are black, and no one gave them the job or house - they earned it.
You are fooling yourself if you believe this, or if you think you will be able to argue this against the grievance-mongers. There will be “racism” in America as a way to shift money and power to minorities.
Do you have any idea how hard it is to get rid of an incompetent executive hired by affirmative action? Race remains an issue as we will no doubt see.
Don’t count on it. If anything, the election of Obama will be used to justify more affirmative action programs. After all, Obama wrote that he was the beneficiary of AA programs during his academic career and did not feel stigmatized by it.
Father walks in to find his 14 year old son watching television. Dad says "When Abraham Lincoln was your age, he was studying books by firelight."
To which the son replied, "When Abraham Lincoln was your age, he was President of the United States."
Pretty hard to claim being held down by "the man" when "the man" is a brother.
If this were true, I would have voted for the Fraud in Chief myself. I’m sure you’re being sarcastic, but I’m afraid this is only going to make the excuses worse. Want examples? Just look at some of the prima donna athletes who use the “race card” to explain their failures.
Trueblackman, you are wonderful. I am so glad you are on this forum.
Congratulations on your recent marriage and may your days with your lovely bride be long and happy.
Yes, I think the days of accusing everybody of racism are over, I truly do.
You da man!
It will be the comeback kid for anything that doesn’t go Obie’s way.
Putin is licking his chops.
I agree, this is a silver lining on a dark day for America.
Obama’s policies will almost certainly be disastrous, but the elimination of the “racism” excuse will be beneficial (if we survive the next four years as a nation).
This nation (mostly white people) elected a black man named Barack Hussein Obama to the highest office in the world. There is some white racism remaining (though I tend to think there is more black on white racism these days), but it is not a significant barrier anymore.
So, no matter what your skin color, if you are a loser who can’t hold down a job or stay out of jail, or live a productive life, it is YOUR FAULT. You are either too stupid, too lazy or lack the self-control to succeed. Blame yourself and make the changes you need to make, but don’t blame “racism”.
From a more positive perspective, removing the racism exuse, should help young black people. Anytime people of any color face tough challenges in life, there is often a natural tendency to look for excuses to avoid them and give up. For too long, many black youths have found “racism” or “the system” to be this excuse.
Now that it is gone, I am hopefull that more young black Americans will fight through the challenges that we all face in life, and succeed.
Also, whenever Sharpton, Jackson and their ilk, start with their race baiting, the response should simply be: “The President is black, racism is dead, shut up and go home!”
