The reason the press was so hard on Sarah [Palin] was that she was a woman who challenged the long standing claim of the far left, that only they spoke for the issues of all women. And for those groups of the far left, the issue at question is abortion. The left views abortion with all the reverence of a religious rite. Free and easy abortion makes it possible for them to lead a life without consequences, and that idea is central to the me, me, me lifestyle philosophy of the left. Even the suggestion that an abortion might not be a perfectly reasonable and moral act will bring the kind of raging hostility and rationalization that can only come from someone who is trying to justify behavior that they themselves already know is wrong.
But because they so desperately need it to be an OK thing to do, they get the logic of their arguments all turned around. They treat the issue as if its a simple question for science and a complicated question of morality, but in fact the opposite is true. In reality the morality is thoroughly settled, and its the science which provides us only with questions. And because of that theyve been trying, mostly unsuccessfully, to make their case against the place where the conservative argument is actually strongest

Sarah creates a disparity between Lib views of what a strong woman is and the reality of her being strong enough to think for herself and come up with her own conclusions. I recall when Jesse Jackson and other black ministers came out against abortion as a black genocidal conspiracy by white America. The Dem Libs quickly put him back in his chains to serve their purposes.
I have ALWAYS thought that the hateful opposition to President Bush was, at the core, a hatred for his Christianity. I see the same with regard to Sarah Palin. She lives her pro-life and pro-Christian beliefs and they seethe with hatred because of that.
In this world, it has become very easy to see the difference between good and evil.
Well I think we'd both agree, that clearly isn't true for everyone.
Abortion: If everyone did it, what would happen to the human race?
Homosexuality: If everyone did it, what would happen to the human race?
Both are serious "crimes against humanity"...and nothing less.
True....but deep in their guts, many of them DO know.
You are right in the sense that, when one chooses wrong again and again, the conscience becomes dulled.
