SPRINGFIELD, ILLINOIS -- Recently, the American Civil Liberties Union issued a statement saying the group would not legally challenge the rights of those who intend on displaying a Nativity Scene inside Illinois' state capitol building in Springfield. In an article by Kurt Erickson of the Bloomington Pantagraph, Erickson wrote: "The American Civil Liberties Union says it won't fight a plan to erect a Christian nativity scene inside the Capitol Rotunda. After a month-long review, the Illinois chapter of the ACLU said Daniel Zanoza's proposal to erect a display inside the Statehouse depicting the birth of Jesus is a form of free speech in a public forum. Rather than oppose the Lincoln man's plan because it could violate the constitutional separation of church and state, ACLU spokesman Ed Yohnka noted in an opinion issued Wednesday that other groups could exhibit their own symbolic displays in the same area for the same number of days." http://www.pantagraph.com/articles/2008/11/12/news/doc491b27550eb8e499667447.txt

Probably as a favor to Hussein, saving him from the embarassment of facing this issue in his home state.

I'm sure we'll see tasteful displays of such time-honored displays as "The Holy Homo Christmas Pole" and the ever-popular "Truth Tree."

It's Illinois, home of Obama. The manger will probably have a baby-Obama in it.

I’m waiting for Christmas next year, when Obigula re-distributes my Christmas presents.

It kind of reminds me of the movie Mommie Dearest when the Joan Crawford character tells her daughter, Christina, after her birthday party that she can keep only one present and the rest she would have to give to the poor children.

Ah shoot! And here I’ve been waiting to put up my “ACLU Christmas” song that bashes the ACLU for it’s communist ways and stocking full of coal.

Oh, well, I might just put it up after Thanksgiving anyway.
