I hope Jerry Lewis is doing what he’s doing for his Heavenly reward, not some dingy trophy that will gather dust and end up on ebay after he’s gone.

He had plenty gathering dust before he started doing the telethons. I doubt he thought he needed more. He's devoted a very sizable portion of his life, time, and energy to MDA which was time he still could have instead been making big money elsewhere. My guess his he figured he had enough cash to suffice as well. I think that alone pretty well says where his intentions lie.
