A big warning sign for the East is how the younger generation of Albertans the 18-30 year olds are feeling a rush of patriotism for their province because of this issue.Woo. Including my cousins!

Maybe we can make a trade for Vermont. They may have to rename the International Peace Park, though.
To: Verginius Rufus
We’ll trade you Maine, Vermont and Minnesota plus a State to be named later for both Alberta and Saskatchewan.

If you get it done, could you post a “how to” for some of us down here in the USA?

We'll trade them ALL of New England, including Harvard University (now ain't that an offer) for Alberta, but Canadian companies have to give up any claims to the hydrocarbon deposits.
And no Ossies.

No offense intended, but why would any newly independent nation want to become a part of the United States? So they can take on their part of the trillions in national debt, the bankrupt Social Security system, or be governed by the Democrats and Obama?
Doesn’t really matter, anyway, I’m highly doubtful we’ll see Alberta actually try for independence in my lifetime, especially since any separtist fervor will undoubtedly cool with falling oil prices and a slowing economy in Alberta.

They have a tradition of saying “OK, eh?” regarding independence.
Americans prefer to use a lot of ... er ... close-range pyrotechnics.
Just doesn’t map well.
