A few random thoughts after looking at whom Soros has given campaign contributions:
1. Obama's rise to national prominence began with his speech at the DNC on June 26, 2004. Before the speech, he was only a known entity in Illinois, but Soros gave him money before that big speech. Soros also has an office in Chicago, so it's not surprising that Obama was on his radar, but it's interesting to note that Soros was giving Obama money before the country knew about him. A quick googling of five or six of the congressional candidates Soros donated to shows that none of them were from Illinois.
2. The very first (oldest) entry for Soros' contributions is to John McCain in 1999.
3. Obama's selection to speak at the DNC in 2004 wouldn't have happened without John Kerry's approval which makes it that much more funny that Kerry is supposedly steamed about Hillary being chosen as Secretary of State. Kerry was also one of the first (iirc) who came out whole-heartedly for Obama while most others were still waiting to see how the political winds would blow. Somewhere, Kerry sobs.
What kind of publisher gives an unknown a book deal to write TWO autobiographies before he’s done anything? And the Grammys awarded him “best spoken word” recording for his book on tape (that category has been a liberal pat on the back for over 15 years).

Let Blago know we think he is innocent until proven guilty.
“2. The very first (oldest) entry for Soros’ contributions is to John McCain in 1999.”
Not true. Soros has made contributions at least starting in the late 1970s when campaign finance reporting started, including a donation to one George H.W. Bush. His contibution to McCain signified the same thing as his to Bush - an attempt to thwart Reagan in 1980 and George W. Bush in 2000 in the GOP primaries. Nothing more.
We needn’t delude ourselves that he wanted either G.H.W. Bush or John McCain as President. He didn’t.
The crooks in Illinois are trying to impeach the governor before any trial has even happened. They are embarassed but I don’t see how they can act yet.
The impeachment will be a trial of sorts and additional facts will come out. An impeachment is far preferable to a Blagojevich resignation.
Blago Contact Info:
Federal prosecution for the crime of trying to sell a Federal office is preferable to an Illinois prosecution by state government.
And having both investigations going on at the same time is preferable to one or the other. If Blagojevich resigns the State of Illinois will not continue to investigate so a lot of the criminal associations will not be publicly scrutinized.
True. You'll notice that I used the word "entry" to note that I was talking about the list at the link (which I figured might not be complete).
