Not her best competitive year, but good enough to move on to level 6 this year..
passing it on..
Awesome! In a couple of years she’ll be ready for the Chinese Olympic team ;-)
lol.. she was VERY disappointed with her performance at State this year.. knowing her it WILL motivate her to do better at level 6... she has her level 6 skills down, but needs to clean it up between now and October 2009
BTTT
She looks like she works very hard at her sport. You must be very proud.
She’s an amazing athlete, Mr. Osborne.
Tell her nice work, David! The back walk-over and back extension roll are beautiful.
Just my 2 cents...I know Florida is pretty competitive. Here in Georgia Ellen’s coach got her in and out of 6 as quickly as possible and moved her up to 7. Six is actually much more difficult than 7. Qualify her at 31.00 early in the season and get her into 7 starting in the optional meets in January. The added bonus is you don’t have to listen to the same floor music over...and over...and over...
Does she have giants yet? I wish her the best of luck!
Amazing!!! You should be very proud. She looks great!!
Very talented young lady. You must be very proud of her.
Congratulations and best wishes for her future endeavors.
..you have another Shawn Johnson there, DO—congratulations...
She is beautiful and very talented.
Thanks for sharing this great event with us.
Merry Christmas.
melissa,
She is very close to getting her cast to handstand.. and giant.. probably will have in the next few months I will let you know if you like... I think if she gets her giant soon she might skip level 6 as you said.
David
I’d love to hear how she’s doing! After Ellen quit I went through serious withdrawal (8 years of commitment), so I still like to hear of others’ successes.
Ellen hated cast to handstand. In level 6 the cast to handstand has to be above 60 degrees. The cool thing about optionals is you can get around skills that you’re weak on and replace them with items you are good at. Ellen got around cast to handstand with clear hip to handstand - and boy was she good at that.
Keep me posted. I’d love to hear that she moves in and out of 6 in a meet or two and go straight to 7. Then the fun begins!
Exactly ! Amanda is very excited about going to level 7 — that is where you see the real separation between competitors and recreation.
David, she is soooooo good. We will be seeing her in the Olympics, won’t we?
Not quite Shawn Johnson... yet :)
Several folks have asked for the scores from this video.
