Really? That would fall in category of “too good to be true” — I haven’t seen anything to indicate that! Yes, the ACLU lost grants from a couple of the foundations Madoff has wrecked, but at less than $1 million these programs are far from all of the ACLU’s activities, and I understand that they have a major endowment of their own (no indication yet that it was invested with Madoff).

SO far, all I see is that the ACLU is using this scandal as a fundraising ploy, but they themselves are far from claiming that they are “almost wiped out”
