There was a very unusual report yesterday, a President-elect a still a week away from being inaugurated was threatening HIS OWN PARTY with a veto:
Tested before taking power, President-elect Barack Obama privately delivered a pre-inauguration veto threat to fellow Democrats on Tuesday, saying they would not deny him use of the remaining $350 billion in federal bailout funds. Source
To be sure, this is not the kind of change Obama was talking about, but it seems that the large Democratic majorities in both houses of Congress are flexing their muscles to show the incoming President the extent of congressional power.
Last week, Diane Fienstein dissed both the President-elect and her Senate leadership, while Harry Reid made a point of reminding reporters the he does not report to the president. That was only the start, while the opposition party has been relatively calm about Obama's super-sized economic stimulus package, HIS OWN PARTY IS PISSED at the way its developing.

ears spent 143 days in the senate, most of that was spent running for President..he has no clue how the congress works but he’s being taken to school..

I don’t know about that, but I did attend the wedding of one of my sisters-in-law, and my hangover lasted longer than the marriage. Or so it seemed.

These dems are very jealous of Obama. They see him as we all do(though they would never admit it)- as a media creation- not someone who has worked his way up and “paid his dues” like they think they have. I really haven’t seen any of his fellow dems gushing over him like the dumbass public and media does.
Well, there are too many preening asshats on the Dem side who want a shot at 2012 and Odumbo is the placeholder (in their eyes); they want him to be a one termer (or less) as badly as we do.
I think you are right. Have you heard any member of Congress gushing over him the way the press does? I haven’t. In fact, we have read that Pelosi and Reid have told him not to do anything behind their backs or else and other similar stories. I think they will bring him down for one of their own and sooner rather than later.
