My daughters (ages 15 and 13, both NOT athletic, both who have had to learn to deal with LOSING) think it is ridiculous what has happened to this coach. They have also seen bad sportsmanship. Everyone who is defending the actions of the school against this coach and in coddling the other team does so while simultaneously insulting the other team, and betraying their own priority on the OUTCOME OF THE GAME.
So when the coach of my sons high school team (my son doesnt play) sent in all subs when they were ahead by 30 with three minutes left the other night, he was violating this no-mercy rule?
I think you misread. There is NO "MERCY RULE" in basketball.
It did not say "there is A NO MERCY RULE" in basketball.
I think you guys are all making the poor coach feel bad. You should be ashamed, piling on like this. /sarc
I did misread. Sorry.
Now he knows how it feels
You’re funny.
Did you read his version of the story? I think probably not. because he did all the things you all wanted him to and it still didn’t work out the way he wanted it to.

ok . :-)
So, he did all the things those of us on this discussion board said he should do and still won 100-0, BUT in his words, “We are not the athletic powerhouse all the national media says we are.” Something doesn’t add up, does it?
