Take a look at this graphic. I came across this pie chart on a lefty site explaining how JOBS would be created by this package. What's missing from this picture? How about TAX CUTS for the BUSINESSES that HIRE people? Nah...that'd make too much sense, and leave too many dollars uncontrolled by the federal government.

Dear FRiends,

In light of what is transpiring in our nation's capitol tonight, more than ever, we need to ensure that places like Free Republic and other like-minded places continue to speak the plain truth. Newspapers are dying and the current administation will either bail them out or allow them to fail. If they are bailed out, they will be even more beholding to the coming socialist agenda. If they are allowed to fail, the powers that be will force the remaining electronic media to fill the void. Local coverage only. No national syndicated news/talk. The "Fairness Doctrine", like it or not.

After that, the internet. Free Republic. And others.

We need to get this FReepathon over and right now. We need to show that we are serious and will continue forward and thrive, not just survive.

If you can spare a couple of bucks, that would be great...If not, God bless you and please stop by the FReepathon thread and give it a bump.

We're all in this together.

I read through the bill. There is only $1 billion that will directly benefit small business. 80% of the nations employers and we get $1billion. Nice. The rest of the money spent on projects will go to bigger companies who have employees and are bondable. Wont create any jobs. This whole thing is a farce.

I think it is a good target. We can hang this around their necks.

Porkulus Package Pie Chart - What's Missing From This?

Missing are folks who don't rely on radio actors for terms like "Porkulus"

I bet you could come up with a term just as good.

Of your own.

It is the social lubrication for socialism amongst the groups that must be bought for their votes in 2010 and 2012. Nothing else matters in this MASSIVE TRAVESTY AND LIE UPON AMERICA. Thank you liberal voters for letting this happen to us — the elections of 2006 and 2008 was the final blow to a free, capitalist, Constitutional republic.

I kinda like:

“The Pork Pie”

But I reckon we won’t be able to use the word “pork” much longer, you know, so we won’t offend the neighborhood Islamofascists...

Actually it was there for a while, but the Senate Deal worked out as the Collins/Nelson (D-NE) amendment removed it as part of the deal...or at least crippled it a lot.

You think it is admirable to adopt any terminology used by popular radio actors?

Original thought is a thing to be scorned with you?

What I think is that Rush Limbaugh unifies conservatives more than anyone else in America. Finding a common term of art that becomes popular keeps people energized besides being instantly recognizable. The more conservatives appear unified the better the conservative message will resonate with those who are on the fence.

If you have a better term put it out there. I don't see much utility in each and every one of us having our own personal term for one thing. Especially when only thirty or forty FReepers will recognize it.

Your big point seems to be the Limbaugh is just an entertainer. No kidding!?! He says so himself. If you want to lead conservatism then start a web based radio show and go for it. You can then lead us where you feel Rush has failed to do so. But the fact is that he is the leading voice of conservatism in America whether you agree with everything he says or not. I know I don't. But I do see him for what he is and I don't understand why you feel the need to trash him at every opportunity. Especially for such trivial shit.

It comes down to this; what do you support more? conservative values in general or your little crusade to push everyone to be as creative and influential as Rush Limbaugh? It won't happen. There can't be 57 million popular leaders of the conservative movement.

I'm sorry if that busts your balls but there is enough infighting in the conservative movement without harping on someone for the very fact that he energizes the conservative movement. Where is the original thought in trying to belittle people that take inspiration from others? You make it sound like there is original thought when in fact there is nothing new under the sun.

I don't. Never said I did. But I don't adopt the catch-phrase of every radio actor either.

If you want to lead conservatism then start a web based radio show and go for it.

Where in the world did I imply any such thing?
I simply criticize folks who adopt popular terms.

But the fact is that he is the leading voice of conservatism in America whether you agree with everything he says or not

Only because you allow him to be.

Is he really so much smarter than you or does the media just tell you so?

You make it sound like there is original thought when in fact there is nothing new under the sun.

How can you possibly say that when he has "Talent on loan from God?"

Heretic!

I simply criticize folks who adopt popular terms.

Why? It's a waste of energy and counterproductive for every person to coin a unique word or phrase for each issue. Since you admit you don't have one of your own for the stimulus bill it's a pretty lame criticism to boot.

TE: But the fact is that he is the leading voice of conservatism in America whether you agree with everything he says or not

Only because you allow him to be.

LOL So, I'm the one who made Rush famous? Now that's an original thought. And insane.

Is he really so much smarter than you or does the media just tell you so?

I don't know if he is smarter than I am. I doubt it. But it is obvious that he is much better informed on politics, has vastly more talent in articulating his thoughts as well as more experience and talent in broadcasting. I could see that before the "media" ever mentioned him. The fact that they do mention him a lot now only confirms what I saw for myself it isn't what informs me.

How can you possibly say that when he has "Talent on loan from God?" Heretic!

You make it sound like you completely missed my point. It could be that I was just too original for you to catch it ... but I don't think that's it. Apparently you just have your own agenda, which has nothing to do with promoting conservatism, so I will leave you to your unoriginal musings on the originality of thought.

Yes, do run along.

Maybe you can catch an AM radio show to emulate.
