War on Terror (yeah, we still use that phrase around here) hero time. Another United States Marine gets ambushed, wounded, stands, and fights, until his men can get away.
Let's not forget this Marine's name: Corporal Nicholas Cox.

If Kerry rated a Silver Star this Marine deserves the CMOH. Noone can ever question whether this Bronze Star was earned. BZ Cpl Cox!

There certainly is no honor in congress anymore, our nations highest award should be renamed so as not to besmirch the recipients.

I’ve heard it just referred to as the MOH ... the president awards it(?) not congress ....

Bronze, Silver, clusters, Navy Cross. CMOH....he KNOWS what he did, God bless him for it. Never to downgrade a medal, but he knows what he did, God knows, and his brothers know. I could give a rats ACORN if Congress evenknows what earning a medal is all about...they were NOT there; stuff them.

I liked this comment at the end:
This kind of heroism is the essence of American greatness. When you read about 30 Marines getting ambushed by 250 terrorists . . . and crushing them, or about SEAL's rescuing a kidnapped American hostage and sending the kidnappers to Allah, you realize that heroics like this are the rule, not the exception.

Cobras Corollary Number Seven
Other than the words United States nothing should be attached to the Front of Marine, and only Veteran should follow when describing all Marines not presently serving in uniform.
(This includes “former” : )

It usually comes up when someone says "so, you're an ex marine" - my dad quickly informs them otherwise .... :)

Sadly, in Vietnam officers got silver stars for doing virtually nothing. It does appear they have cleaned this up in Iraq.
