You know, we made a very big mistake pre-2008 election.
We tossed around the terms "Marxist" and "socialist" way too freely at liberals. (Yes, there is a difference.)
Then when a real Marxist came along, it was like The Boy Who Cried Wolf--no one listened.

(3) to provide centralized locations to improve the coordination of preparedness, response, and recovery efforts of government, private, and not-for-profit entities and faith-based organizations; and
(4) to meet other appropriate needs, as determined by the Secretary of Homeland Security.
I wonder what happens to non-profit/private groups that don't want conform to government control in these situations.

Sorry to be the one to put a damper on this party, but this little gem is not, to me, the gravest threat. Wait until they complete the move of the National Census to the White House staff and out of the hands of the Commerce Department...they will gerrymander themselves into permanent power.
I am a lot more concerned about this than idiot Alcee Hastings little bill.

According to govtrack, its still at the committee stage: http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bill.xpd?bill=h111-645
I can’t find the names of the committee members, if somebody has those, we could FReep the committee. Enough other bills never make it past that stage, so we might stand a chance.
