Forty-five years ago tonight, one of television's most memorable moments took place - the Beatles' first appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show. Over 70 million viewers tuned in on that Sunday evening long ago.
Here are the first ten minutes of the original broadcast, as it aired on CBS-TV, including commercials.
This clip includes three of the five songs the Beatles performed that night.

imho the Beattles are way over rated
If you play that record backwards you will hear, “Haey, haey, haey!”
Beatles
Not necessarily the psychedelic stuff....some of that was good, some even excellent. but before they got stoned to write there was Rubber Soul and Revolver, masterpieces..... and without producer George Martin, they would never have been as great as they were.
some of their individual politics were atrocious. especially Lennon's (Lenin?)
You must not be very old.
Wasn’t that the band McCartney had before Wings? Seriously, that appearance changed my life.
My FIL met them. He was a postman. They ran through the PO building (as cover) to catch a taxi on the other side to get away from the mobs (UK). He shared a ‘cup-a-tea’ with ‘the lads’......as he used to say (RIP).
Rubber Soul, Revolver ... Yes, masterpieces.

nope just a kid im 49 but that was all my ten years older sister used to play it sucked then and sucks now with a few exceptions
George was my favorite.:)
IT WAS FORTY-FIVE YEARS AGO TODAY.....Sgt. Pepper taught The Band to play!........
I’m glad they brought some happiness to some here.
To me they were long haired, dope smoking, hippies.
oh SHUT UP...God, this site is so predictable with its old curmudgeons. The Beatles changed the face of music...overrated. My God.
Al Baby, maybe I was too harsh..tell me..what is your idea of great music..name me a group you think is “brilliant.”
How old are you?
Thanks for reminding me. I used to think that Woodstock was the beginning of the end of Western Civilization but now believe it was that fateful day.
I always wondered why Lennon lived here if America sucked so bad. And why didn’t he voluntarily cap his income at the Obamanable $500,000 a year limit.
Ya know why? ‘Cause he was full of shit, just like the current crop of “entertainers”.
Some Marxist...
what part of IMHO don’t you understand
Liked theBeatles. Love the SEARCHERS!
