Are you ready for the House Bill titled 'HR 45, Blair Holt Licensing and Record Act of 2009'. It will make it illegal to own a firearm unless it is registered with the database in Washington D.C. As a gun owner you will have to be finger printed, you will be required to provide your DL#, SS#, you must maintain a valid address at all times, submit to mental and physical health records being put on file, you will also be required to file any address changes and any ownership changes even if private sale. Each update will cost $25 and if you fail to comply you will lose your right to own firearms. This bill and its language mirror almost completely one defeated last year in the House of Representatives by soon to be Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel. Will the citizenry be as lucky this time?

My normal response is,”Email and call your representatives.” After the stimulus debacle I have lost a little hope in that method but I still dutifully call and email when a threatening bill or plan is introduced. Evil bills and E.O.’s are coming so fast and furious and they are SO bad that it is getting downright frightening!
I wonder if our dear Senate Republicans can be counted on to stand in unison on this one better than they did on the financial stimulus bill. Let us also not forget, the supreme court has ruled in our favor regarding civillian ownership of guns. They would be all but forced to consider confiscation of firearms unconstitutional. I anticipate a supreme court battle centering on the determination of what constitutes a reasonable restriction and what does not. It’s not a lot but it’s something to work with should this bill pass. So, start sending money to the NRA. Get ready for war.

H.R. 45 is not a good piece of legislation.
What part of “shall not be infringed” do these illiterate morons not understand? I know my rights, and I will defend them to my death, period, end of story.

We should not have to fight, again and again, for rights that our brothers and sisters died for, just because some loon brings it up again.
