Here is full video of Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal's Republican Response Speech tonight to President Barack Obama's Address to a Joint Session of Congress. Jindal's speech was personable, optimistic and clear in standing for the greatness of America and the principles that have made America the greatest nation on earth.
Jindal set forth unequivocally that the strength of America in not the Government, but the people. He called on Americans to continue to believe in the ability of Americans to overcome any challenge, and pledged that Republicans will stand strong for the free market principles that made America the most prosperous nation on earth. He also bluntly called the recently passed Obama Stimulus Plan, "irresponsible."
Jindal did a fine job with a difficult situation. Obama, with all the pomp and circumstance of the Presidency, is a hard act to follow. But he did very well, and has certainly set himself up as a shining light for the future of the GOP. Whether that light will shine in 2012 or 2016 is the big question. But it will definitely shine! . . . . . . . . (Watch Video)

Wow, I wish you hadn’t posted that and I wish I hadn’t seen that. That was a disaster beyond all disasters.
Some good thoughts but a really lame delivery. I did not like it but tha means it will sell to a lot of well ???
I thought it was pretty weak. I think the whole “we need a black dude now too” thing is very weak. This includes Steele as head of the GOP and Jindal as our celebrity spokesmodel.
One of the talking heads described his delivery as “sing-song”, it had a strange cadance.
The only response I could possibly have respected would have been a full throated attack on Obama, his legitimacy, his policies, his criminal organization pretending to be a political party, and perhaps even his wifes absurd job-as-bribe.
Anyone who makes nice with the Obamanation isn’t doing his job.
Did you watch the address? More power to you and Bobby if you did, but I have to differ with you if you think it made a positive impact.
It wouldn’t matter how well he delivered or what he said, the MSM will pan Jindal’s performance. By Monday, most of America will think Jindal is some idiot lunk who should be clerking at 7-11.
What was a disaster? I think Jindal did fine. The party out of Presidential power always suffers in the response because the comparison of a speaker alone in a room and a President speaking from the House Chamber before a Joint Session of Congress hugely favors the President. But Jindal staked himself on the ground of America’s strength being her people and not the government. In the long run, that is a message that will wear well.
Everything about that presentation was wrong. It reminded me of this horrid statement that Gordon Brown made at 10 Downing when it looked like he came out of the bathroom to find people in his living room. Jindal talked too fast and had a weird smile. It hurts to write this b/c I’m a big fan of his.
I thought he did a good job.
What’s with the hands?
I’m still rooting for Palin/Coulter 2010!
Fair enough if you think so. My initial assessment was that Jindal sounded like he was reading ‘Curious George’ to a bunch of retards. That was not what I was looking for as a response. Hopefully, that’s different for others.
Okay, I’ll wait: Palin/Coulter 2012!
Peachy keen. Thanks.
Opinions vary. :)
I like Bobby Jindal a lot..but I too believe that he has to stay away from the Republican elite, they will mold him like they molded John McCain, and we DON’T need another John McCain. That’s the one thing I worry about with Jindal, the Republican elitists are shunning Sarah because she relates too much to Average Americans, they want to make Jindal into a big wig, Jindal doesn’t roll like that. He’s a good guy
I mean ya never want to follow the president with pomp and circumstance, etc . . . but wow Jindal was terrible.
agreed. not terribly inspiring.
But it’s early. noone will remember this a week from now, much less 3 years. Americans have no long term memory whatsoever.
