In all the furor yesterday over Rush Limbaugh's tremendous speech at CPAC, I failed to post video of Gov. Mitt Romney's speech. So the video above is of Romney's speech at CPAC 2009. If you want to skip the introductions, Romney actually begins speaking at the 13:00 mark of the video.
Romney turned out to be the winner of the CPAC 2012 Straw Poll, getting 20% of the vote, with Jindal running second at 14%. So, it was a very good day for Romney, who is in a strong position to run again if he chooses to. . . . . . (Watch Mitt Romney's CPAC 2009 Speech)

Ugh. Draft Sanford. Now.
3 years out and he can only get 20% and he only got 2% or so during the last primaries? Romney Run DOA
Romney will be the nominee. The economy in 2012 will be in the crapper, worse than now, and Romney is the guy who will turn the ship around. Bank on it.
Thank you for posting.
Why are you still trying to push the Romney Pill down the throats of REAL conservatives ???
RINO/Liberal Romney is not the medicine to fix what ails the GOP...
Romney choked in the primary...
And we choke every time you try to shove him in...
Here he is...regurgitated again...
Clean up on Aisle 2008...
Why do you feel there is a desparate need for a clean up on Aisle 2012 ????
Romney pussed out during his run for the Republican nomination, he was just another ‘walking on eggshells, scared of the media criticism’ Republican who I have no use for whatsoever. We need people with guts, not soft-ass phony pussies like Romney. I swear to God, I would vote for Joe the Plumber over Romney if the two were running. At least Joe would let it fly and speak the truth.
Well, then once again, you divisive, dishonest Romney sycophants will have thrown ANOTHER election to the Democrats.
A few of the best lines:
“Some of these critics never cared much for our belief that America occupies a special place
that there is work in the world that only we can do
and that Americans have the heart and the courage to get it done. But we know these things to be true. And to those who question the character of our country, including the new attorney general, let us remind them that America has never been, is not now, and will never be a nation of cowards.”
-Mitt Romney
” America is not a country that dictates to other nations. We are the country that has freed millions of people from the tyranny of dictators. Never in the history of a world has a single country possessed such great power, and used it for such good purpose across the world, as the United States of America.”
-Mitt Romney
“Dependency is death to initiative, to risk-taking and opportunity. It’s time to stop the spread of government dependency and fight it like the poison it is.”
-Mitt Romney
“Im afraid I know where the liberal Democrats want to take us. And as they try to pull us in the direction of government-dominated Europe, were going to have to fight as never before to make sure that America stays America.”
-Mitt Romney
0bama is The False Messiah. Romney is THE ONE.
I appreciate his optimism in the opening part of his speech.
“I’ve been a hunter pretty much my entire life.”
— Mitt Romney
— “I told you what my position was, and what I, what I did as governor; the fact that I received the endorsement of the NRA.”
—Mitt Romney
(No - and his Democratic opponent actually had a higher NRA rating...funny that he has the same tactics as his paid shills here at FR.)
— “My father and I marched with Martin Luther King Jr. through the streets of Detroit.”
—Mitt Romney
(Needless to say, no such thing ever happened)
“I was an independent during the time of Reagan-Bush. Im not trying to take us back to Reagan-Bush.”
—Mitt Romney
That’s all for now, more to follow later...
—Mitt Romney
I have a problem with something that I noticed from both Romney and Boehner, regarding cap and trade. Both men stated their opposition to the global warming tax as being unfair to American business if it were imposed only on American business and not internationally.
The GOP needs to get off cap and trade, and oppose it as yet another tax on an overtaxed populace. Cap and trade is nothing but a money grab, and our taxes are already too high (and going higher).
Mitt’s are for catching, not throwing.
Im afraid I know where the liberal Democrats want to take us. And as they try to pull us in the direction of government-dominated Europe, were going to have to fight as never before to make sure that America stays America. -Mitt Romney
I saw my father march with Martin Luther King." - Mitt Romney
"You sit down with your attorneys and tell you what you have to do, but obviously the president of the United States has to do what's in the best interest of the United States against a potential threat." --on whether he would consult Congress about invading Iran
