A scheduled performance of "The Rocky Horror Show" has been running into quite a bit of difficulty - in the form of official demands and restrictions.
I've never been privileged (???) to see this show, but understand it entails considerable, enthusiastic audience participation - something the authorities find threatening.
(Transylvanian transvestites ??? An acquired taste, I suppose.)

Back in the 70’s, I use to attend the Rocky Horror event every Saturday night at the Art Cinema in New Brunswick. It was quite a scene.
This isn’t too far away from there.
That’s pretty funny when the campus police can’t figure out the difference between a man in a wheelchair and an actor in a wheelchair, as if the actor couldn’t just get up and walk away if there was a problem.
I might try to get to the Friday Midnight show...
They messed with the original.
they ran out of nappies?
Oh darn it. It being Lent, I cant have MEATLOAF for dinner that night.
“It just a step.....to the left”
Slices of toast- check
Lighter-check
Newspaper-check
Baggie of rice-check
Squirt gun-check...
There’s more, but that’s all I can recall from my wasted Friday nites as a ‘yout’.
: )
Make that *jump*
For those that want a cool song stuck in your head today :)
It’s astounding, time is fleeting
Madness takes its toll
But listen closely, not for very much longer
I’ve got to keep control
I remember doing the Time Warp
Drinking those moments when
The blackness would hit me and the void would be calling
Let’s do the time warp again...
Let’s do the time warp again!
It’s just a jump to the left
And then a step to the right
With your hands on your hips
You bring your knees in tight
But it’s the pelvic thrust that really drives you insane,
Let’s do the Time Warp again!
It’s so dreamy, oh fantasy free me
So you can’t see me, no not at all
In another dimension, with voyeuristic intention
Well-secluded, I see all
With a bit of a mind flip
You’re there in the time slip
And nothing can ever be the same
You’re spaced out on sensation, like you’re under sedation
Let’s do the Time Warp again!
Well I was walking down the street just a-having a think
When a snake of a guy gave me an evil wink
He shook me up, he took me by surprise
He had a pickup truck and the devil’s eyes.
He stared at me and I felt a change
Time meant nothing, never would again
Let’s do the Time Warp again!
The first time I saw the show was back around 1987. While waiting in line, I didn’t understand what was up with all of the weirdly dressed people. Especially the transvestite (Frank). After seeing the show, I told my cousin (who once before told me he went all the time), that I’d finally had a chance to go see it. He took me out to his car, and in the trunk, was the Frank-N-Furter costume that had initially horrified when I was waiting in line. He made me swear not to tell my aunt because she’d kill him.
I love this weirdo movie the music is fantastic. the last time I saw it in the theater there were so many people in costumes up on the stage that they ruined it for me.
Loved Rocky Horror!!! I must have went to that movie over 20 times in the early 80’s.
You need to see the movie/play with an audience that knows what to do~ watching it by yourself at home on the plasma just doesn’t cut it - it’s a weird movie....
It’s been about 10 years since I last went to a showing. Good times.
It came on TV this past Halloween...hubby and I watched about 10 minutes, then the kids walked into the room...we turned the channel so fast it would make you head spin...then we looked at each other and giggled. I think our Rocky Horror days are safely considered OVER.
But I have the boxed anniversary CD set. International RHPS was always a blast to listen to.

Lots of terrific music in this movie.
OK, I’ll admit it.
Me and my wife, as well as my best friend and his wife went to see it several times ourselves (very early eighties?).
Anyone remember ‘Il Topo’?
It was another draw for the “midnight Movie” scene.
Really, really, bizarre.
