One of the arguments commonly made by the "neo-bigots" is the Israeli "occupation" of Palestine is what drives Muslims to become radical Islamists.
This argument ignores the fact that Muslims hated Jews long before Israel was recreated in 1948.
There is a myth that Muslims loved the Jewish people from the time Muhammad started the religion 1400 years ago. Nothing can be further from the truth. In fact it all comes down to the Apes and Pigs thing. When talking about Jews the Quran says that we are a wretched people who have been transformed into Apes because we violated the Sabbath (well at least you know why). It also ignores the fact that when Israel pulled out of "occupied" Gaza a couple years ago the Palestinians increased their attacks on Israel, using Gaza as a rocket launching pad. Israel could completely withdraw from the W. Bank as well and the result would be the same -- increased terrorism.
Islamic terrorists are driven/encouraged by western weakness, not occupation.
IF ANY Muslim nation really cared about the Palestinians, they would have opened their country to allow them to live there.
