Semper Fi! US Marine applause a bit different for Obama than Bush

[Watch incredible video highlighting contrast]

This is a remarkable video. It clearly demonstrates the difference in how two presidents are greeted by the United States Marines.

The jarheads’ greeting for President Bush is deafening. The greeting for President Obama is, well, polite.

Semper fi, indeed.

Little more than a golf clap for the marxist messiah from our great marines. More than he deserves.

It’s almost as if they blasted the music to cover for the lack of enthusiasm.

Not that I’d ever accuse CNN of doing that or anything.

I had the pleasure of gathering with my nephew in Jacksonville, NC, and a house full of his fellow marines & their wives and girlfriends for a cookout for a few of them who were getting out, recently. I was picking around with them, and asked them how they liked their new "boss". Well, when I asked that, the conversation took a serious turn, and some of the things I personally heard these marines say, I cannot repeat in a public forum. A couple of the guys were going to re-enlist, but said an Obama presidency is why they chose not to. Not one single one of those guys had a single complimentary thing to say about Obama; not even the black marines who were present. Even a couple of them said while they wanted to see a black man as president, it wasn't this particular one they had in mind. One of them even said he wanted Ken Blackwell to run and win. These men DO NOT respect Obama...at all.

As an aside, what tickled me are the profanity laced tirades about Obama followed by a courteous, "excuse my language, ma'am" when they spoke in my presence. You just have to love those marines.

In that last pic, those poor kids look bored to death. A couple of them look angry, lol.

Wow... what a stark difference. Were they commanded to stand to at Obama’s entrance? Certainly seemed that way. Amazing.

"The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of the blessings. The inherent blessing of socialism is the equal sharing of misery."
Winston Churchill

"Bust of Churchill Returned by Obama
"After the September 11th attacks our British allies loaned President George Bush
a bust of one of the greatest Britons the world has ever known, Sir Winston Churchill.
It was a gesture to show their support for the United States in one of its darkest hours.
The bust sat prominently in the Oval Office for the balance of President Bush’s tenure there,
and once President Obama took office, the British offered him the opportunity to keep it for the length of his term.
His response was cold and most likely sent tremors through the British diplomatic community."
....
"Diplomatically this is a faux pax that only an unseasoned politician could make.
The British have stood by our side as strong allies for decades and we need to maintain that relationship,
especially in a world that is becoming increasingly dangerous (See Is Nuclear Weakness on the Horizon)
If he did not want to look at it in the oval office he could have displayed it elsewhere in the White House
and not slapped the British in the face in such a blatant disregard of political etiquette."

He’s giving us “the finger” all right, and our British allies as well. As my hero Winston Churchill once advised: “Do not let spacious plans for a new world divert your energies from saving what is left of the old”.

I LOVE that video...
NOBAMA’s only applause were from the Blue Suits (looked like either ready to retire or political appointees)

As the guest of the 1st Radio Battalion at their 2008 USMC Birthday Ball, I heard similar remarks. The classic was: “We’re a little concerned about your senator becoming CIC.”

My reply was, “He’s NOT my senator; I voted for Alan Keyes.”

To be fair (and repetitious since this has been on FR at least 3 times), the events the author cites are quite different. Bush’s visit to troops in Iraq was more personal while Obama’s speech at Camp Lejeune was more of an official policy statement. Marines at Camp Lejeune were at attention and more than likely not allowed spontaneous response (positive or more likely negative) to Obama’s entry into the room.

That being said, the Marines were free to express themselves at the end of the presentation and the lack of enthusiasm spoke volumes.

Once in the White House, Obama continues to fail at all things.

He may have the title, but that illegitimate piece of filth.... is no Commander in Chief.

I’d agree with you but if you watch carefully, the two officers on stage were clapping...you’d think that would be a signal for the rest of them to clap as well.

This didn’t appear to be an “attention on deck”, “as you were” situation.

There are different ways to view the two visits to the troops. Please go to www.blackfive.net for some more veteran input.

Thank you for posting. It was an eye opening for me to see that. I saw that Bush was standing next to them to take pictures and shake their hands...how awesome is that. But then again I didn’t see O did NOT take the time to shake their hands as well. Just only to the generals or officers. Wow...what a change of people reaction to the o. Again thanks.....

Marines is a formal title and needs to be capitalized.
