Embryonic stem cell research has never been banned. And lifting the ban on federal funding for it certainly did not allocate any funding for it. It’s been progressing nicely with private funding, free of all the stupid strings attached to federal funding, and will continue to do so. We’re having a bit of a financial crunch right now, and embryonic stem cell research is hardly an urgent priority for government. Bailing out huge banks and stabilizing the financial system is something which really require government involvement. Not so for medical research of any kind.
I’m sorry but I think O knew exactly what he was doing. That piece of legislation, that was in the Omnibus, has been there since 1996. My guess is he knew it was coming, deleted Bushes exec order so the MSM would have something to talk about, but knew he was making no difference.
This provision simply prevents it from being funded by this act... I’m sure he’ll find the money somewhere else
Didnt he say he would go over the bill line by line. If so he has no excuse and the law stands.
