Yes it is in great danger. We are at a great turning point in the history of the US. I just hope and pray we turn the right way.
Not all the police are jack-booted. My commission as an officer required the same oath administered to the military as well as the addition of upholding and defending the Constitution of the State of Nevada. I like to think that most of my colleagues would stand with the military, so many of them are reservists or guardsmen. On the other hand, I know full well that there are others, perhaps 10% to 25% on my department who would do whatever they were told by the government, unless well led and instructed prior in the constitutionality of such issues.
Just the other day I was working a case with a federal agent who wanted me to get a search warrant for a suspect’s apartment. This suspect has been killing us with fraud and identity theft crimes for five years. I finally arrested her last week and although it has taken a long time to put together a solid case, I explained to the federal agent that there was no way I could get a search warrant for the suspect’s home. I simply didn’t have Probable Cause for a warrant. Arrest yes, but since the suspect had moved, I had no evidentiary trail pointing to the new residence that would persuade a judge to issue a search warrant and I wasn’t going to invent stories, evidence or paper to make it happen. My integrity and the rights of the suspect are still worth something.
That said, I hope that the suspect is even now enjoying jail and a nice, large, ill-tempered cellie.

It’s a relief to hear that at least some of the military (maybe most?) would stand with the citizens rather than with those who would impose Communism.
yes it is, and if MOST of them are anything like my husband (a Marine) they will be standing with us.
