It is hard to believe how fast this is happening. We need to impeach this guy NOW. Here's the money quote:
The U.S. House of Representatives has approved a plan to set up a new "volunteer corps" and consider whether "a workable, fair, and reasonable mandatory service requirement for all able young people" should be developed.
The legislation also refers to "uniforms" that would be worn by the "volunteers" and the "need" for a "public service academy, a 4-year institution" to "focus on training" future "public sector leaders." The training, apparently, would occur at "campuses."
The vote yesterday came on H.R. 1388, which reauthorizes through 2014 the National and Community Service Act of 1990 and the Domestic Volunteer Service Act of 1973, acts that originally, among other programs, funded the AmeriCorps and the National Senior Service Corps.
It not only reauthorizes the programs, but also includes "new programs and studies" and is expected to be funded with an allocation of $6 billion over the next five years, according to the Congressional Budget Office.
I’ve said this before but it bears repeating:
Brown shirts and other gear available at CafePress.
Yet one more second closer to midnight!
There has to be Democrats that are ready to bolt on this guy.
I say IED.
Here’s where it is headed:
Is this the “better armed than the military” internal group that the “Divine One” wishes?
The U.S. House of Representatives has approved a plan to set up a new “volunteer corps” and consider whether “a workable, fair, and reasonable mandatory service requirement for all able young people” should be developed.
Are all the Representatives illegalaliens that donot understand ENGLISH?
How does “voluntary service” equate to mandatory service?
Have all the Representaives become MORONS overnight? I thought there were a couple that were not complete idiots around........
Sounds like a live version of the movie “V”
What Osama Bin Laden could not do with his terrorist thugs fromthe outside, Barack Obama seems intent on doing with his Brown Shirt Thugs fromthe inside.
My family and I are not participating....
I bought another 100 rounds of ammo today.
“My family and I are not participating....”
DITTO! ! ! !
They work for us. Not the other way around!
I thought slavery was a thing of the past. Mandatory service is akin to slavery, IMHO.
There has to be Democrats that are ready to bolt on this guy.
Where can they go? The sheeple will bail on them and just push for a more liberal, progressive, whatever freaking term the farrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr candidate which they will get in office no matter what...There WILL be a political showdown in Washington w/in 2 years and sides will be drawn, it just can’t continue to be like this...even politicians at some point have epiphanies where they come out of hte haze of the totalitarian shadow that is growing by leaps and bounds in the WH...
This IS the real life enactment of Animal Farm happening before our very eyes....
HAVE we forgot
Who voted against it?
"You vill volundteer, und you vill like it. Ve have vays to make you like it!"
Time to fire up the Dillon 650. It says it will turn out 600 - 800 rnds an hour. But the most I’ve been able to run is about 400. Any faster and I miss an occational primer and then the powder runs out. But 400 an hour works just fine for .308, .223 and 9mm.
"I szeee nutting, I heaar nutting ... jez gimmie a szliszze of zat Apple Strudle ...yum, yum .... "
The shirts will be black because this corps is going to be the Black Panthers.
Well, that might fit.
I saw somebody refer to Obama as “Il Douche” in another thread.

It's voluntary...no, it's mandatory.
Good luck getting all those "able young people" away from their cell phones, ipods & video games long enough to "volunteer."
OMG! All those Republicans voted aye???
There should not have been even one...
I was thinking of more recent events....
You can read the full H.R.1388 vote tally here:
I smoked both my rep’s (McMorris, WA-5) local and DC Offices, as well as the County, State, and National GOP organs.
No more support, period. Not no way, not no how.
Not only NO, but HELL NO!
And now I’m tracking down a rumor that she saw it as “an extension of her NO vote on the bailout and stimulus bills”
Either too f’in stooopid, or too f’in dangerous...
Feel free to FReepmail me for sample letters.
Thanks for the link. At least my Rep. (Jeff Flake) voted no.
Until I looked at that list I didn’t know the Dem. Rep’s out number the Republican Rep’s in AZ. Very sad to think the state is turning purple....
Ping again! This is the one I told you about!
Schock voted for this? He has been doing an ok job, but this vote was just boneheaded as can be. I’ll have to write to him to express me deed dissapointment.
I do not know anything about Schock. But I am pretty sure he did vote for it.
Simply found a reliable source for data and filtered out the Dems and singled out the Republicans that voted for this but should not have.
Often I do this when there is a bone-headed bill that passes. Try to let the Republicans know the we do not appreciate it.
This vote was quite a while ago, on March 20th.
