Dozens of arts and education supporters gathered on the Capitol steps at noon last Friday to protest Gov. Sarah Palin's rejection of federal stimulus dollars. The state of Alaska was offered approximately $930 million from the federal government. Last Thursday, Palin decided to reject almost $288 million, much of which would have gone toward arts and education programs. Palin met protesters on the steps during the protest to answer questions and defend her decision. She said that rather than following national opinion on the matter, she is more concerned with managing Alaskan's expectations."I'm going to do what's best for Alaska," Palin said. "We just want to make sure that everybody has all the information regarding this opportunity, because with opportunity comes obligation. I think the fairest route to Alaskans is not to get their expectations up."

Teacher’s union bitching, no doubt?
Gutsy lady right there.....
Proves she's not "for sale."
>”Palin met protesters on the steps during the protest to answer questions and defend her decision.”
She is, and for the rest of us who think talking to protestors is like talking to retarded mental patients, at least she gave them the time of day to stimulate their remaining brain cells.
I just don’t think enough can be said about how AWESOME Sarah Palin is!
THAT’S OUR SARAH!!!!!!!
POTUS # 45.
And she doesn’t need a teleprompter.
I’d have handed out free crayolas and recycled toilet paper for the idiots to draw on !
Maybe if said silly socialist backers of the arts supported a conservative republic that didn’t waste money there would be LOTS of money to ensure the arts were funded all the time !
They reap what they sow.... funds be they public or private sector are few these days and key programs should be lone concern right now !
Just my opinion !
The protesters look like a bunch of retards.
OMG! The most straight forward, honest, brave and caring person I can think of.
And not for sale.
She will have her place, maybe not on the throne
in this lifetime but beside the throne in the next.
God Bless Sarah and her family and keep them safe from the vile
evil scum.
Good on Sarah. She's not afraid to get out there and meet the people of her state and defend her actions which she believes (and are) in their best interests...even if some do not agree.
GO SARAH GO!
I have just decided that Sarah is one of my top ten all time favorite female names.
Absolutely fearless....
POTUS # 45.
I wish.
I have two Sarah’s in my family..my Mom’s two cousins are named Sarah..Sarah is a very popular name in Israel. Now this Sarah is just AMAZING. It would be such an honor for me to one day meet this wonderful woman, she is my inspiration. I just adore her.
It’s always interesting to see the reactions of people when the person they’re protesting actually faces them. They don’t expect that—it’s like being an Internet poster, and the person you’re complaining about shows up at your house and says “So, what did you want to say to me?”
These people look kind of lost, like they weren’t thinking they’d be faced with the person whose name they’ve got plastered on their signs.
She shows NO Fear. She goes out there and speaks her mind, hopefully she got through to some of those morons, but I highly doubt it. They are already the zombies for the Obama machine, they are too far gone to get it
Since the left often hires these protestors its possible many of them might not even know who Sarah Palin is.
From the looks of those buffoons I doubt they know what planet their on
