9 mm at $20 + sounds high. Sportsman Guide seemed to have ammo in stock. Ammoman was out of a lot. I have not checked on Cheaper Than Dirt.
Any other web suggestions?

In the Peoples Republic of Minnesota,
for .223/5.56mm mostly Wolf or Golden Bear or variations thereof, avg box of 20 FMJ goes for 8.99. I know one place for 7.49 for same box.

Cabela's had Fiocci 7.62 X 39 at $12.00 for 20. There was no .380 available at all. I noticed 200 rnds of .223 at $90.

750 round case of Brown Bear 7.62x39 for $160 OTD and a case of Privi Patisian 7.62x51N for $706 OTD. Got the privi because it is reloadable, but I can’t find primers right now...

Wal-mart (when I can find it very infrequently) 9mm luger Winchester 50 rnd for $10.97 or $19.97 for 100 rnd. 22 long rifle at Wal-Mart brick of 550 Federal for $13.47, brick of 550 Remington for $16.97
Been having a little better luck finding Monarch 9mm 50 luger rnds for $10.49 at Academy Sports lately. Some stores have gone to limiting customers to 2 - 3 boxes of ammo so some yahoo doesn't comes in and buy up the whole shipment as soon as it's stocked.

I think the big question should be asked of the ammo makers is whether they are increasing their production infrastructure. This is a critical question, because ammo production equipment is not cheap, and if they are willing to do this, their estimation is that the high demand will continue for quite a while.
The question is also straightforward, because I would be shocked if they are not already at 100% production, three shifts, 24/7. I imagine that they are also pretty testy, because when you have retailers like Wal-Mart making demands on you, you know it from the bite marks.
