Because of men like him, a whole generation lived and prospered in a free country. Ted Mack’s Amateur Hour, the DC version, cannot change the great things these men did.

You certainly aren’t very chatty. ;-) Did you get any ideas or help from this thread? Can you let us know what happens with the Bible?

I have never been the tip of the spear. I have never directly faced my nation's enemies in a fight. But I have fed the tip of the spear, and housed them, and buried them, and back in the day, worked on their avionics.

Naval aviator, Marine pilot, Zoomie, or Army, they all have a special place in my heart, and at my hearth.

And they deserve our remembrance and prayers.

Obviously a family with a good sense of humor, as well:

"On the west side, from the corner of 4th to near the alley, the three story building (now Peaslee Ale Brewery (1890) was built in the boom days. About 1854 or 1855 it was built for a hotel and called the Temperance.

You know I saw something in the Google search about Peaslee Ale but didn’t open it and read it. LOL!! That is just too funny!

LOL. I was kidding. Anyway, since I took typing in school many moons ago - learning on a manual - I became quite a quick typist. I took a typing test once and the lady made me take it again b/c she did not believe I could type that fast. At the time, it was 98 wpm with only 2 errors. When computers came out, I increased that speed to 102 wpm. I think I’ve slowed down somewhat.

It makes posting very, very easy but I don’t proofread which is my downfall.

A brief story was published in the Dubuque Telegraph Herald (you have to scroll down a little). Below is a scan of two pages from the book. They apparently did not publish online the image we sent them, so I assume the same for the hard copy.

I had hoped the scan would look better on the page. Here is a link to it.

Local newspapers is a good idea. Might be female relatives with different last names who would recognize the story and names.

Not sure how this works but please contact me about the JS Bach Bible. I am trying to get hold of my dad outside Detroit, we are Bach’s. Thanks.
