Here is video of a report last night on MSNBC's Rachel Maddow that talks about the Washington Post's story that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was briefed on "Enhanced Interrogation Techniques" used against Abu Zubaydah all the way back on September 4, 2002, according to CIA documents. I know it is hard to listen to Maddow, but this report is good in that she plays an interview she did with Pelosi several months ago in which Pelosi flatly said she had never been told the techniques were being used on anyone. The Post report flatly contradicts what Pelosi said.
As I've said before, I don't believe waterboarding is torture, and am not bothered by the fact Pelosi knew the technique was being used. It's the fact that she has villified Republicans for the techniques when she knew about them all along! Pelosi and the Democrats are being completely disingenuous on this issue, just seeking to use it as a club against Republicans. It will be interesting to see if the radical Leftists, like Maddow, will now continue to go after Pelosi for her knowledge of the use of waterboarding the way they have gone after George W. Bush and Dick Cheney.

Reminds me of the phony outrage in 2004 when Democrats expressed shock at the incidents at Abu Ghraib when numerous congressmen including Hillary Clinton had been contacted on the matter months earlier.
If Pelosi and obama think they can take down the CIA and its friends for political gain, there may be a more surprise disclosures an leaks coming their way
I don’t see Pannetta putting the leak genie back in the bottle the way Hayden was able to do
Maddow is one flaming liberal who does have occasional courage to say the truth

Here is what I wrote for my local paper:
Investigate Pelosi
If we accept the premise that the interrogation techniques used by our intelligence agencies are now defined as torture, we must, without delay, investigate Speaker Nancy Pelosi and other Democrats who were briefed on the use of these techniques since 2002.
If these Democrats sat by while torture took place, they are equally culpable as those who ordered and administered the torture.
That is exactly what Speaker Pelosi and other Democrats are saying. They were briefed and did nothing even though Congress has full oversight authority over our intelligence agencies.
Democrats were in control of Congress for the past two years of the Bush Administration and could have put a stop to the use of these techniques by a simple vote.
Instead, the Democrats did nothing. They allowed what they call torture to continue unabated when they had the full authority and power to stop it.
Either these Democrats are equally culpable of war crimes or are contriving an issue based on a political definition of torture and not a criminal definition.

After 8 years of Bush bashers saying everything was bad - the war the economy, the surge, etc - Pelosi joined the mob to discredit USA.
It's pure political BS. You can call a dog a dangerous animal with claws and sharp teeth, or a loyal furry pet; either way its helps to have one when hunting birds or terrorists...
Keep the pressure on the political chameleons though and keep them accountable.

Seems to me that even if she knew these things were possible and did not say anything at that time to take them off the table, she’s a TBA (Torturer By Acquiescence)

You know the left isn’t going to do anything about this because they have already changed the name from TORTURE to “harsh interrogation techniques”, which is the name the CIA gives them but the demwits call it torture if Bush’s name is invoked but with Pukeosi and the other dimwits the MSM uses the CIA name for water boarding.
