Speaking at the Republicans Senate-House Dinner, the potential 2012 presidential candidate said Obama was overmatched and that the maneuver represented poor political planning by Obamas political staff.
(Cheney) actually understands the issue,The great difference between Reagans rhetorical skills and President Obamas rhetorical skills are that Reagan used his rhetorical skills to shine light on truths and facts, while Obama uses his to rhetorical skills to hide from those things.
I am happy that Dick Cheney is a Republican; I am also happy that Colin Powell is a Republican, Gingrich said. And the majority Republican Party will have lots of debates within the party. That is the nature of majorities.
Gingrich noted that Reagan was elected when Republicans represented less than a quarter of the country, and that Reagan always, in his speeches, reached out to independents and disillusioned Democrats.
At the same time, Gingrich emphasized Republicans should stick to three key principles: strengthening the American civilization, strengthening the nation and its security, and building an economy that has the best jobs in the world.
I think our goal should be to reach out to the American people in every possible way, to make sure that John Boehner becomes the Speaker of the House January of 2011 and Mitch McConnell becomes the Senate majority leader and that this is a one-term presidency, in the Jimmy Carter tradition, Mr Gingrich said. His comments echoed a sentiment Mr. Boehner had mentioned earlier, when he called on the audience to help him make sure Nancy Pelosi doesnt spend one more day in the Speakers chair.
And before you say it cant be done, let me remind you of Jon Voights great quote do not tell me it cant be done, Mr. Gingrich said. It was true for FDR. Its true for us.

well I guess you’re right. having just elected an illegal alien for president the msm would be in a perfect position to smear Newt on his past marriages and the way he handled his wives.
What kind of Republican goes on Meet the Press a few weeks before election day and endorses Obama, the most liberal Senator in the senate and then votes for him?
Gingrich has jumped the shark.
As far as I'm concerned, Newt's one of the most conservative runners we've got.
Newt's got my vote!
The Republicans have become a caricature of themselves.
I didn’t get to watch the entire speech, but from what I did see, Newt did good on this one.
Newt certainly has his warts and he has on many occasions made me so made I could spit, actually, mad enough to break his nose. However, I do believe he loves our country and want’s to help her out of this liberal hell she’s presently in.
Palin / Voigt 2012 !
I like Newt, I really do. Unfortunately, he has a habit of doing balls-to-the-walls interviews where he shows some really good conservative views(especially with Hannity or Beck) but then goes wishy-washy on other shows and backs off. His take on Powell doesn’t give him credibility and neither did his global warming shillfest with Pelosi.
THAT would be fun.
Once Newt realizes his role is to be John the Baptist and not run himself, he will only get more effective.
Gingrich is a prostitute who will say anything.
Newt Gingrich went on "Meet the Press" to state that Rush Limbaugh is "irrational" to hope the President of the United States will fail.
"You've got to want the president to succeed," said the former House Speaker. "You're irrational if you don't want the president to succeed. Because if he doesn't succeed the country doesn't succeed... I don't think anyone should want the president of the United States to fail. I want some of his policies to be stopped. But I don't want the president of the United States to fail. I want him to learn new policies."
Again, the prostitute fails to understand that Obama and the Obama policies are one in the same.
Rush is right to hope that Obama fails to implement his communist policies in America.
Newt is wrong to refer to Rush or ANYONE ELSE as irrational for hoping the communist ideology does not succeed in these United States.
Um. Okay? Newt’s been getting bashed pretty hard on FR for a little while now, ever since he took that stupid gorebull warming photo with Pelosi.
Allow me to complete your statement: Gingrich is a prostitute who will say anything, especially now that he’s planning to run for president.
Newt will be the hard-core conservative candidate that the establishment RINOs will support. Hmmmm...
