Is that a news report, or a definition?
(IIRC, the name Cronkite is derived from the German for "poor health.")
Many americans were gravely ill listening to his broadcast every night blaming America for the worlds troubles. He has had so many pick up his torch and carry it even further.
“His greatest stunt was selling himself as the most trusted voice in America,”
I don’t recall that being his ‘petard’. Think it to have been an early network exploitation experiment.
Regardless, may he rot in communication hell.
And what he did with that trust!
The Russian tv stations are playing classical music
He’s got 3 million dead Cambodians to answer for.
Set the country back probably 100 years. Without Walter, there’s no Dan Rather. Probably no Jimmy Carter. Probably no Obama.
Prayers for the seditious one who declared the TET victory a smashing defeat because the Viet Cong breached the U.S. embassy compound in Saigon.
I will not be able to stomach the endlessly fawning crapola that will spew forth from the circle jerk of liberal love that is our media.
Not by a long shot. That "honor" (sic) goes to the current resident of 1600 PA Ave.

LOL!
It’s been awhile since we’ve heard that classic phrase.
You must be a least as old as me.
“If the North Vietnamese had not had Cronkite on their side the war there would have ended on a much more pro-American note.”
Yep. Cronkite single-handedly turned the US crushing of VC during the Tet Offensive into a defeat, just by the lies of his sonorious voice.
Yes, he was charming. Handsome. Friendly. All the better to spew his lies and venom.
old commie is ill...like I care.
Yep.... I found this: "Kronkheit' is German for `unwell'".
This man is a hero to broadcast media types. They think of him as a hero because for decades he got away with the stuff that today’s broadcast propagandists can only dream about. They try and they try to emulate him but they keep getting called out by bloggers and talk radio and it drives them nuts.
Cronkite did more real harm to the republic than all but a handful of people. His greatest harm came about because people believed him.
Walter was second after Jane Fonda!
I'm looking forward to doing just that. A lot of good men paid with their lives for what Cronkite did.
General William Westmoreland’s totally unrealistic assessment of the troop strength of the Viet Cong lost that war. At a critical juncture in the war he didn’t get it right and we paid for it subsequently with massive casualties.
Prayers for him and his family. Hope he has made peace with himself and God for what he’s done. It’s amazing who the left will “Appoint” as trustworthy.....
