Galloway can't get no Respect.

I have been greatly disheartened by what I’ve seen happen in Iran and by our Media’s almost blackout on info on this issue and the public’s lack of interest.

I remember back in 89 during the protests in China, our news networks stopped their regular programming to show what was happening.

Now we have several 24 hour news channels, dozens of videos smuggled out of Iran, hundreds of twitter reports from eyewitnesses—the tools we could only dream of back in 89. Nonetheless, no one cares.

If this regime toppled, missile support to Hezbollah, insurgent support in Iraq would greatly decrease.

I’m also disheartened to see the absolute futilness of “peaceful protests”. Yes, they worked great in USA during the civil rights protests, and they worked great with Ghandi in India. But these can only work if there’s any element of goodness in the government you are protesting. Otherwise, protesters are just fish in a barrel to shoot.

Thousands of protesters will watch helplessly while a group of 5 police will beat them to death, one by one.

The protests like the ones we saw in Romania in the early 90S are the only ones that work against evil regimes.

How can one tell if a Tweet is from Iran or Ohio?

Because someone claims so?

Please.

At dinner this evening, one of my co-workers said (with the appropriate disgust), “Nothing happened in Iran today because Michael Jackson died.”

The problem for Iran is that they have to schedule their revolutions around any popular peoples death. They should have consulted with Michael Jackson or at least his doctors before starting a revolution that we would pay attention to.

This person was tweeting from Tehran long before people switched their timezones. There are a few legitimate tweeters. Persiankiwi, oxfordgirl, stopahamadi and thinkiran.

“Nothing happened in Iran today because Michael Jackson died.”

The effects of this monumental event have yet to be calculated.

It's pretty much the worst parts of the Bible, basically.

It is not news unless Obama is in the center of it or a dead pop star.
