I have been begging, pleading, cajoling and insisting you get active. Let me clarify the term active for you. Active is more than calling, writing, email and faxing. Active is getting in the street with protest signs. Active is going to your senators and representatives local office and demanding to see them, or speak with them directly on the phone. Active is being in their face, each and every day you draw breath. The list of Obama’s crimes against America is long and well documented, but here are some recent highlights of B. Hussein Obama’s systematic destruction of America.

It’s much more complicated than that. Goes back to the naked force of the Civil War.

What kind of overt acts are you looking for? Do you think that they’ll be loading dissidents on to rail cars or shooting conservatives at polling places?

They have to get their political and economic framework into place before they can do anything that you would call overt. Its important to get as many people as possible on the government dole before they can do anything. Bailouts, Cap and Trade, Hate Crimes laws are the tools they can use to control us. The economy and jobs lost are the economic means to make us dependent.

Only when all that is in place can they start taking the overt action you are waiting for. And then its just too late.

You don’t have to be a bomb-thrower to be a radical. But, you can’t just sit around complaining and waiting for the round-ups to start before you start making noise.

If we can derail some of their agenda before it is passed, then they won’t have the power to commit the overt acts.

It does equate to leftist. Colloquially if not by dictionary definition.

Sons of Liberty would be radical relative to John Adams, for instance. Then again, Adams ended up being a federalist, whereas firebrand Sam Adams was anti-central government. Leftists/radicals are always in favor of central government, and always use the masses to get there. Sam, contrarywise, aroused the masses to fight for decentralized government. Reactionaries usually rely on traditional authorities to forestall the expansion of the state, but Hamilton, the champion of industrial interest, was a merchantilist. Go figure.

Our revolution is tough to figure out. Partly becuase it wasn’t much of a revolution. Kept most things intact. Gave brith to a mostrous Leviathan, via the Constitution, but that took a long time to ripen. For the most part, and this goes for Sam as well as John and Hamilton as well as Paine, the war was about preserving prerogatives: that is, *privilege*. The Americans wanted their birthrights specifically as Englishmen, though they talked a lot of high-falutin’ Whiggish talk about God-given rights.

I often get confused teasing these things out. You know, not long ago, liberals claimed Jefferson as their own. Against the industrial revolution and entrenched power, for “the little guy”. Now libertarians own him. Go figure.

Congress doesn't seem to care one whit about phone calls, letters and emails.

I couldn't disagree more. The vote was close precisely because of phone calls, emails and faxes. It would have been far worse had not people flooded Congress with various form of communication. Their only shortcoming is it that Congress critters weren't overwhelmed for a long enough period of time. It came primarily only 24 hours before the day of the vote. People should have been flooding Congress with these forms of communication for several days straight. The tea parties and other form of protests are also effective. All methods to express our outrage need to be conducted simultaneously for a long period of time to be effective. Summarily dismissing anyone form of expression only weakens the cause.

Tea parties are going to continue to be ignored, no matter how loud and large they become.

So we shouldn't make phone calls, send faxes or emails or conduct tea parties. That practically eliminates any method to convey our outrage. It's tantamount to silence. That's exactly what socialists desire. Every time an idea is posted on FR there is always people who shoot it down by falsely claiming it won't work because it will be ignored.

And we will be ignored until we surround Washington with tens of millions.
I agree with a massive march as it is one of many methods that can be used. You are describing a tea party. That can be accomplished with the tea party scheduled for September 9-12.

Every time an idea is posted to move against socialism on FR there are always people who shoot it down by falsely claiming it won't work because it will be ignored. Doing so is self defeating. No one method by itself will work but the totally of implementing all methods together for a protracted period of time will be effective.

I agree. The founders figured the people would themselves hold the reins of power; meaning that the people would themselves occupy the offices of power. Even then, the three branches would fight each other, instead of working in cahoots against the freedom of their fellow countrymen.

Now we observe checks and balances in form only, not in substance.

They gave the people of their time a chance to operate and bequeath self-government and freedom to their heirs, which is all that any group of people can do.

The freedom of our forefathers is long lost. We're a self-governing nation in the same way that Europe is, at best.

4. To inform the public on the issue of Obama’s ineligibility to be president of the USA.
5. To demand that they can not take our constitutional rights away.

We are proud Americans who fear that we are losing the America we all know and love.

why is he unaware? why aren't you filling him in? we have kids at home who are 20, 17 and 14 and each one of them knows EXACTLY what is going on and are vocal to their friends about it. We live in NoVA, and I work in DC, so i will be here in Sept.

Basically there are two types; One type so brain washed that they will not believe the truth no matter how it is presented. The other type so cynical that they don't believe that nothing can be done about the national situation no matter how they vote. Sadly, this group has empirical evidence on their side. The idea that we are not filling them in is well ridiculous.

I can’t believe that freepers haven’t been talking to their kids from the time they are small about these things. I don’t even care if you send your kids to a public school, WE are responsible for informing our children of our political/moral ideology. IF freepers properly do our jobs with our kids, they cannot be brainwashed. My kids have all gone to private/Catholic school but you can find libs there as well. My husband has also gone in as a guest speaker to all of their social studies classes at one time or another over their educational careers.

I'm not advocating surrender, merely pointing out that for the amount of destruction that has been done to our freedoms in the last six months, and for the tremendous unlawful usurpation of power by this administration, the protests have been meager. Sometimes it's necessary to goad people into actually doing something.
More morons flooded into Washington to party for the “historic” inauguration of the usurper than have participated in protests. I refuse to believe that the majority of this country support socialism, and even if they do, I refuse to relinquish my Constitutional rights to mob rule. Wake up America.

I was referring to my own kids and others I talk to. I have talked to my kids all their lives. Why on earth would you even believe that I or anyone else didn't? One thing I have noticed on FR is there is quite a rush to snap judgments.
