Presidential advisor said something fairly startling regarding health care this morning. In response to a question about whether or not taxing employer provided health insurance benefit would be off the table, here's how Axelrod responded.
One of the problems weve had in this town is that people draw lines in the sand and they stop talking to each other. And you dont get anything done. Thats not the way the president approaches us. He is very cognizant of protecting people middle class people, hard-working people who are trying to get along in a very difficult economy. And he will continue to represent them in these talks,

Well done, Mike. Here. This Kool-Aid's for you.

Translation: “Massive tax hikes are coming down the pike to pay for this elephant.”
The flag is for Axelrod.
There was one term used in the title of this piece that was very instructive as to the means to achieving that goal - “dogmatic”. Whith such an approach, there is no “third way” through triangulation, or compromise between the more moderate positions, or anything EXCEPT coercive taxation.
His way, or the highway. And there is darned little paved road left.
Rarely have there been so many, so determined to drive all humanity down into a state of de-civilization and restore a new “Dark Age” to the known world. Perhaps it is just that so much of humanity “just can’t stand prosperity”.
Adversity is apparently a much better fit for people. They shall soon get their opportunity to test that proposition.
So, if you have a position on an issue, that’s considered an obstruction to getting anything done. If Congress listens to Rush Limbaugh, then they don’t get anything done.
In some areas, I would prefer that we don’t get anything done. With this global cap and trade bill, for example, big numbers of Republicans were against it, and even some Democrats were too. Just passing legislation doesn’t mean you have accomplished anything. I consider that Congress has gotten something done if they can block unwise legislation. You don’t measure the productivity of Congress or a President based on the number of new laws or executive orders.
Yet to the Obamabots, those who disagree with them are just obstructing the utopian future they have in mind for America.
President Obama’s Dangerous and Dogmatic Commitment to Marxist Hope and Change
You do know that the quote you refer to is from DAvid Axelrod. Are you now saying that even referencing a Democrat means that you are carrying water for the other side.
I agree — the best thing legislatures can do is NOTHING.
True for Federal, State and local.
Watch the movie My Sister’s Keeper if you want to see what is going through the minds of the Healthcare staffers.
One goal of Obamacare might be to see that no one is PUNISHED / burdened with hopeless situations. Obamacare could relieve the burden of old age, or teminal handicaps and other punishments... and that could solve the financial problems of Obamacare.
A serial killer gets interminable appeals ... but not if Obamacare is the serial killer rather than a Gacy or Dahmer.
